Empress

This is such a beautiful song and with these two ladies singing, it only makes it better.

In fact, I love the entire BOTB cd.

It may be, but since the album was on Quincy Jones' Back on the Block....its probably Andre Crouch.

Great song, but prefer Streisands version (which, oddly was also produced by Quincy Jones).

Her version (whuch was the first version), does not have the african vibe and is not so overproduced. Prefer the vocal aswell.

Horrific really lol Aside from her stint with the Brand New Heavies, I don't get her at all. As a writer yes, performer/singer no.

Siedah turns up as session backing vox on alot on mid 80's records, but also had lead vocals on a few songs, before her bomb solo album "kiss of life" came out:

Sergio mendes:
"daylight" (lead vocal)
"nonstop (lead vocal)

"its what we dont say" (duet with Jack Wagner)
"goin' to the bank" by Commodores (cameo role only)

Also co-wrote a couple of songs in the 80's.

Definately one who deserved some sucsess I feel.

I recognize and applaud everything about her song writing skills. I just think that's where her real talent is nod

She cowrote a couple of songs for Michael Jackson, also co-writing for Sheena Easton (the poppy "manic panic"), and you can clearly hear her on Glenn Medieros' "best man". She got around LOL.

She co-wrote "Man In The Mirror" and "Keep The Faith" for MJ.

Yep, both Ballard and Siedah wrote "state of attraction". Good song.
