I neeeed to know how the show was. What did they dress up as? Was Danger mouse still as cute as ever? Was Cee-lo good? I need to know!

I was there. It was hot. I'm not the biggest Gnarls Barkley fan so I didn't expect to have as good a time as I did. They had a full band so the songs all sounded nice and full. I mean they just plain rocked--especially in the first half of the show. The second half, perhaps because of the setlist, didn't have as high an energy level as the first, but it was still all good. They were dressed in tuxedos with ruffled shirts (Cee-lo and Danger in white jackets, the rest of the band in blue). I was very impressed!

Admittedly, I bought the ticket because they were paired with Santogold and she was pretty good despite the fact that all her music was prerecorded. It was her, a DJ and two dancers that reminded me of female versions of Public Enemy's S1Ws. Just with frills.

Here are some blogs about the show:

Cool pictures, looks like it was a good night. The setlist looks good too!

It was a shame they didn't come to the UK a few weeks back for a promotional tour. They were due to perform on the Jools Holland show, which in fact would have been the first time they performed their new stuff live. I hope they reschedule!

Cee-lo was funny. He dropped the mic once during "Going On". I don't know if he was attempting a James Brown move or what. He kept asking for liquor during the first few songs. I think he grabbed Dangermouse's drink off the piano to do a toast, but it looked kinda wimpy to him. He was just like WTF? lol.

One post in one the bloglinks said that the performance wasn't all that and some of the musicians just phoned it in, but I disagree. Maybe it's because I've never seen them before so I have nothing to which I can compare this performance, but I thought it was great. I was near the front of the stage off to the right and didn't look behind me to see how much the rest of the crowd was into the show, but I sure was. I'm glad I went.
