We want Rick....to funk us up......we want Rick.....to funk us up

Fire up the funk and let's jam. This was one hell of a jam from the King of Punk Funk, Mr. Slick Rick with a big black dick. He was taking names and fucking the dames, he was motherfucking Rick James.

You need to DJ with talk like that, seriously.

Internet radio is easy, done on your time and you could spin the only shit that matters.

I've been talking that type shit for years. I think that's one of the reasons I tolerate shit hop less than other people, because I can definately write rhymes myself and have no musical ability when it comes to playing instruments, although I think I'm capable of learning. I can mix also. I see them as having no more talent than I have myself. lol

When I was growing up, I wanted to be a DJ but around the time I graduated high school, music was first starting to take a turn for the worse. I would have absolutely refused to play stuff like Shitney Houston. It got even worse though. DJs eventually became the ones making records instead of playing, mixing, and creating something unique for the dancefloor. Mixing a rap record in a club would be like mixing a mix. lol When it comes to music, I think musicians should be the ones making the records and DJs should be the ones playing the records. That way, the music still remains actual "music" and both professions get to show their skills at their best and most entertaining.

Ain't nothing like vinyl, especially when it comes to Motown. Their CDs have a horrible sound quality.

You should check out my favorite Rick James song of all time, "Come Into My Life", which is on that album. Hell, even Michael Jackson fell in love with that bass line and had to use it. lol

Good then, you agree. I love your comments on shit hop and what you add around here.

Let's get you on a podcast or a weekly radio show, how can I help?

That does sound like fun but there's no way I could do one. I don't even have a computer at home. I had planned on getting one with my income tax refund money. I almost bought one last weekend but I had a strange feeling telling me to save the money. Sure enough, the other day, my damn car broke down and it took $400 to fix it. When it rains, it pours. lol

I have seriously thought of mailing my sister (who lives for computers) some of my mixes, have her to download them into her computer, then download them to yousendit, then email me the link, and then I could post a few in a thread here on the org like Finess does sometimes. If I'm not mistaken, the mixes would have to be one long track and I have track numbers inserted into mine. Although I could re-record them onto one track. I would also have to re-record some of them anyway because they might have a Prince song in the middle of them and you know how he is about his shit being on the internet. lol

Yeah, I agree with you on this one Andy, Come Into My Life is a dope track, I love everything about it, hell thats a dope album, I wish Motown would get off of their lazy arses and release it and all of his other albums. I also love 'When Love Is Gone' thats a song that I feel expresses his songwriting ability and creativity, this is definitely one of Rick's best albums.

I bought this album about 4 years ago at a vinyl sale for 1 dollar and
it is in excellent condition. I like love gun too. I like the ballad
that closes the album. Can't think of the name for it right now but
i will pull it out tomorrow and check it out. I might even go on a vinyl
dig tomorrow.
Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint
