Now that another weak contestant has been voted off American Idol, next week's theme obviously is "Idol Gives Back". If last year was any indication, no one will be voted off next week; (actually that is probably a likely scenario, since Access Hollywood has already reported that taping of the "Idol Gives Back" special is happening this Sunday and airing next Wednesday) so instead two people will be voted off the following week, which just so happens to be Mariah Carey Mentor week.



So which AI contestant is the most likely to butcher her songs? Will Brooke White do a so so job of singing "Make It Happen"? Will Syesha Mercado dazzle the audience with her breathtaking cover of "Vanishing"? Will Kristy Lee Cook try and fail to turn "Dreamlover" into a bluegrass ditty? Will David Archuleta be pressured by his stage-dad to sing "Fly Like A Bird"? Will David Cook turn "Always Be My Baby" into an emo rocker? And will Michael Johns legally but technically cheat by singing a cover of either "Ken Lee" (a.k.a. "Without You") or "Bringing On The Heartbreak", which were actually covers of other artists' songs that Mariah did? Stay tuned.

UPDATE: According to Fox, American Idol is on three nights this week, so the special Thursday night episode will be the results show. After that follows Mariah Carey week.

I'm not a Mariah fan, but she knows exactly how to put out an album....Take note to that person who had a great single out earlier this year but has been MIA since her album came out.
