BRANDNEW JAMES BROWN ALBUM - AUGUST 2002 There's a new JB cd out since end-August. With new songs (no greatest hits, no back catalogue thing, not live)! It's called "The Next Step" featuring also Bobby Byrd! I found that on the JB homepage funky-stuff.com
http://www.funky-stuff.co...xtStep.htm Has anybody heard it yet? (There's even a single but that already came out in 2001: "Killing is out, School is in".) Get sexy sex, get funky at... The ORANGE Park - Funky President, people, it's bad!

I haven't heard it yet, but it better be good. He killed the whole vibe with "Living In America", IMHO

Don't have much hopes for a new JB album, probably have his lame baby mother Tammy Ray (or whatever she's called) on every track. Not very funky or soulful at all.

it's obvious that he took more time crafting this album than some of his other cds from the 90s... there are no attempts to make him palatable to a hip-hop audience this time around... just straight up good & funky... and quite a few soul ballads on it, too... all in all, it's a pretty decent cd... not a james brown classic, but if you like james brown, you should enjoy it nonetheless... so 4 replies with 2 saying it's worth it and one hoping (just like me).
at cdnow i could listen to parts of every song 30 sec. long, it really seems to be better than the 90's cds. and i found it even here in germany as an import (never heard of fome rec. or red ink before). Get sexy sex, get funky at... The ORANGE Park - Funky President, people, it's bad!
