Interesting. Thanx.

I guess I was right then. Maybe a demo only version was given to Mike at the "thriller" sessions, but the song must be copyrighted around 1982 I imagine. Thanx.

Still remember being blown away by it when I heard it first heard it a good 5 years ago.

I'm gonna be buying the Japanese edition, although I still feel the tracklisting is a huge miss neutral

I am going to have 5 editions of Thriller 25 when this is all said and done.

I already have purchased these editions:

Thriller 25 - Best Buy Edition
Thriller 25 - Circuit City Edition

I plan to purchase these editions:
Thriller 25 - Target Edition
Thriller 25 - Zombie Edition with Case
Thriller 25 - Japanese Edition

I wouldn't buy it from Target but I really want that exclusive "Billie Jean" mix.

Not because Michael kept re-releasing it, but because I keep wearing it out or breaking it lol

lol

And rodya24, "dangerous" is by far my fav album of his, and most likely in my top 5 of all time. Love the album from start to finish. Yes, even "gone too soon" is cool. Long ass listen if your gonna play it all the way through though. But I love the long track time aswell, as the album is split into 2 halfs, 6 newjack tracks, 7 pop tracks, ends with a newjack track to bring it full circle. I love that about the album. The 2 part thing is what pisses alot of people off I think, but I love it for that.

Got seriously played out when I was little though. BIG TIME. But I appreciate "heal the world" "gone too soon" and "keep the faith" alot more now, so its still quite fresh these days. And yes, I do dig "heal the world", yes its naive and corny as hell, but its a nice tune. Mikes voice sounds cool on it aswell. Its good to escape into Jacksons world, and "dangerous" really brings that escapism home. Putting a hard newjack track like "cant let her get away" next to "heal the world", is showing 2 very different sides of Mike. I can relate to that personally. Maybe it shouldn't work, but it does.

Same with me. I swear no one has worst luck with MJ cd's than I do. I have had to replace my Michael cd's so many times that i've lost count at this point. Either they were stolen, given away to friends/family who were all too damn cheap and lazy to buy their own copy or I broke them by accident. I have had to replace all of my Michael cd's. I think I own around 7 copies of Thriller (not including Casettes), but I really want "Got The Hots" though so this might make copy number eight for me lol.
"And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ heart

Friedman's latest scoop...

Michael Jackson had better wake up and smell the coffee. He’s got a real, solid, $1 million-a-night offer on the table to play London’s Millennium Dome.

AEG Live, as I told you a few weeks ago, wants Jackson to play its Millennium Dome in London. Sources tell me they’ve made him an extraordinary offer.

The deal that’s been offered could total up to $30 million. It begins with a $10 million guarantee for 10 nights, with a maximum of 30 nights adding up to $30 million.

The first grouping is all he has to do, though, just those 10 shows. With bump-ups, etc., he could gross around $17 million.

It’s not a hard show to do, either. The proposal, as I’ve been told, is for Jackson to stage his bestselling album "Thriller" from beginning to end at each show. Then, for encores, he would add in several hits from "Off the Wall" and other albums.
Related

The catch: These shows must be completed by the end of 2008, to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the album. The promoters originally thought it could happen this spring, but they’ve revised their plans to the fall.

"Thriller 25" — with tracks remixed by Akon, will.i.am and others — was released Tuesday and is said to be selling very well. Hitsdailydouble.com predicts the package could sell between 90,000 and 120,000 copies.

Not bad for a 25-year-old recording.

This whole deal for Jackson to perform at the Millennium Dome is tricky. I’m told the AEG people really wanted Jackson to make some kind of appearance at the Grammys on Sunday to drum up excitement.

"He was too scared," a source said. "He was nervous about tripping or doing something wrong. He’s paranoid. He’s got to get over it."

But $30 million — which is more like $15 million after taxes — is better than Jackson could hope for, considering his financial situation. Recently, Barclays and HSBC banks worked with Sony Music to refinance Jackson’s massive $300 million loan from Fortress Investments.

But Fortress still has a $23 million lien on Jackson’s Neverland property. That loan is separate from the aforementioned one and is in default. Fortress could foreclose at any time.

The AEG offer should pique Michael’s interest for other reasons, too. If he can complete the 30-concert run, he’d beat Prince’s record of 21 shows. And, sources say, Prince didn’t clear the $1 million-a-night take. Why?

"He charged 31.21 British sterling per show. He got the number from the album that was out at the time, called "3121." And that was taken from his address. And the numbers added up to seven, which he also liked."

Luckily, Michael Jackson has no address at this time, so that shouldn’t be a problem.

Now that you've had Thriller 25 for a week (give or take), have your favorite songs changed at all?

And to any MJ fans or people familiar with London's/Europe's venues:

Suppose Michael does decide to perform again, something like London,
how much US$ would be a ballpark figure for a really good seat? I've never been to London or any of the places (outside of America) that the rumors keep bringing up Michael one day performing at.

You mean original Thriller songs? Or the bonus tracks?

Out of the original Thriller songs, nothing has changed. Billie Jean is still the best there ever will be. Beat It and Human Nature aren't far behind. WBSS, PYT and Baby Be Mine are still awesome. And TGIM and LIML are still cool too.

As far as the remixes go, my favourites haven't changed. Ever since I first heard them I liked the will.i.am remixes more. Still do. The only thing that's changed is I have more love for the remixes overall. The dodgy quality leaks from December didn't do them justice. Now that I have CD quality and can hear everything as it's supposed to be heard, I just like the remixes overall a lot more now.

For All Time, I absolutely love. Since I first downloaded the leak in about 2002 I always thought it was a cool song. But the version on T25 is amazing and it's actually now my most played song on iTunes and I've only had it for about a week.

Its nice of you to think he may do these shows. but I cant see Michael doing this. And to be honest, hits from "thriller" only? He needs a new album (which must be coming out this year surely?), new tour (next year doesn't sound that unrealistic), and stadiums, not arena's. Mike would want stadiums aswell, knowing his ego LOL. I bet (and hope), he will wait until his album is out, and forget this "thriller" rehash.

I think he definitely wants to something like this. Whether he will take up this deal, I don't know. But I would actually love to see him perform all the Thriller songs as they appear on the album. From start to finish. He's never performed Baby Be Mine, PYT and Lady in My Life. A Thriller show, where he performs strictly Thriller songs, would be cool.

If anything, I think what would hold Michael back from doing this is that it consists of 10-30 shows and it's not until the fall. All reports thus far have said MJ is looking at a May release for his new album. So I think if he wants to do a Thriller concert it'll happen sooner rather than later so he can get his album out by May and then do a tour to support the new album.

for once i actualy think friedcock has got a point.

MJ can get easy money by doing 10 nights, even 30.

Just do the Thriller album, after all there only what 8 tracks in total ?

add a few from off the wall and thats it.

He can easily rake in the millions. He should forget the dancing, keep it to the bare minimum, just do the dancing for Billie Jean and thats it.

Also, HE MUST SING ALL these songs LIVE otherwise he will get ridiculed badly.

Aside from Billie Jean which has the dance routine, the other sings he can sing like Human Nature, baby be mine, wanna be startin etc.

Just don't dance MJ, just sing for gods sake. No more Lip Synching.
If he really needs to dance, leave Billie Jean to the end and do an encore or a medley with all the dancing crammed in. Maybe get some of his brothers for a jam session.

Forget all the pyrotechnics and dogs bollocks, we've seen it all before.

Most people want to hear him SING live. Considering he is a singer first and foremost, its actually quite mind boggling how he never sings live anymore.

30 nights is no problem, he will sell out each and every one, and he can charge premium, absolutely everybody will go see him.

There are people out there who will shit themselves to go see MJ in concert.

Especially all the UK fans, he has millions here, he should take advantage and do it.

Although considering that MJ has got stage fright, it remains a mystery if he is every going to do it.

But if he really needs the money, somebody needs to slap MJ across his face and big foot up his ass to make him realise. EASY MONEY MJ !!!

What the hell is he waiting for ???

You better run to Target ASAP. I had to hit up 5 different Targets until I found the special edition. Most of them have the "Target Exclusive" sticker on the outside.

BTW, I purchased the Target, Circuit City and Best Buy editions. I also purchased the Thriller instrumental and Billie Jean Underground mp3s from amazon. I can't wait to get the Japanese edition. I think I'm going to order the Japanese zombie edition to knock 2 stones out with one.

I believe this makes me have 7 copies of this album (it will be 9 by the time I purchase the Japanese edition and the boxed set that's coming out this summer).

There will be no new album in May... and that is as sure as the amen in the prayer!

Late last year and early this year I was very positive with all the rumoured plans for shows.... it would have worked perfectly to coincide with Thriller 25, giving it cross promotion (album promoting the concerts, concerts promoting the album) having those shows in the early summer and then probably having a TV special in late summer.. setting the stage for a new album in the fall!

But somehow I don't think it will happen.... if it would happen, I'm sure he would have used a peformance at the Grammy to kick things off in a big way! But not doing that kinda puts everything else in question as well! I think it was big mistake...

Is the "Billie Jean" mix on the Target version better than the "Underground mix?" Cus I wasn't much impressed with the underground mix on iTunes and Amazon.

Is the "Billie Jean" mix on the Target version better than the "Underground mix?" Cus I wasn't much impressed with the underground mix on iTunes and Amazon.

Also don't forget...
The Thriller Book that is coming out in June with exclusive photos!

To me, it is much better. I recommend it.

Does it sound like a Frankie Knuckles mix at all? That is what I've heard. I just don't I loved the Thriller (Def Mix) but was SO disappointed with the WBSS (Dance Mix) That might as well have been called a 12" mix.

It sounds like a Frankie Knuckols remix. Not quite sure though.

I wasn't disappointed with the WBSS dance mix. Actually, its the same mix that was on the Michael Jackson 12" mixes cd that came out in the late 80s/early 90s. It just sounds like they remastered it. I'm glad, too, because I already had the remixes for WBSS from the 90s that were AMAZING!

Hi!

I've heard the new remixes in this new album. Sorry, but it's like a piece of sh*t. I misunderstood how could that exist. All the original album was so cool, one of the best in the world. But that new is very... Bad.

Don't buy it, please. This is a scandal.

NO KIDDING! I love how on like the Brothers in Rhythm remixes, Michael comes into the mix vocally repeating "wanna be/got to be/wanna be/got to be/wanna be/got to be...etc" with it getting gradually louder and louder. Those are some of the best MJ remixes!

As for the Billie Jean (1982 Club Remix) I picked one up at Target today - I love it!

You do know that Thriller 25 is just a re-release of the original album, right? It just happens to have some bonus tracks that are remixes and out-takes. The original tracks are still intact.

lol. The classic tracks are still there. A few remixes or covers never hurt anyone.
