Give them a break, they do have really great political writing.

That's about the funniest thing I've heard in a long time. Jann Wenner's blatant disregard for anything unbiased or neutral, pretty much dictates which "direction" that magazine's political writing leans. It's all about agenda, not truth.

Leaving Prince out of the Top 100 Guitarists of All Time list was the last straw for me on the music side of things. The twenty-somethings RS has on staff know nothing about decades of great music (over the last century). They're choosing to put Britney Spears and Fallout Boy on the cover, as well as placing Kurt Cobain and Jack White in the top 20 of their Top Guitarists list. Yeah, Kurt and Jack both have released highly respectable music and they're good guitarists, but you've got to kidding me with the top 20 (above Eddie Hazel, John McLaughlin, Robert Fripp, Brian May, Pete Townshend, The Edge, PRINCE, etc.).

Rolling Stone is not viable for anything these days, period.

That's why I'm calling BS on this list. They would have either had to REMOVE this song from their brainstorming session, or have forgotten it altogether - I'm not sure which is more disgraceful. disbelief

There no point wasting time analysing their stupid list anyway. They have like zero credibility. Just list our own best.

Bootsy Collins
Munchies for Your Love
Jam Fan (Hot)
F-Encounter

Isaac Hayes
Hyperbolicsyllabicsesquedalymistic
By the Time I Get to Phoenix
Walk on By
Brand New Me

Funkadelic
Free Your Mind and Your Ass Will Follow
Maggot Brain
I'll Stay
One Nation Under a Groove

Ohio players
Good luck charm
Body vibes
Skin tight
Jive turkey
Heaven must be like this

So many of my faves also runs past the 6 minutes mark. biggrin

considering he was one of the first to break the mold of the 3 minute song, it's rather shitty that none of his music is featured on that list. And that's definitely the track that should be included.
