Amy Winehouse: self destruction So sad....

And all those nasty junkies hanging on to her...yuch.
I'm not surprised by this at all. Here in Europe there have been more than a few articles written with her after she married Blake, while she was smack dab (no pun intended) in the middle heroin nods. To read the articles were a combination of heartbreaking and mortifying, but this tortured soul-I am nothing and I have nothing to give anyone refrain is really losing its' poetry. It's time to pull herself out of this and lose herself within her creative gifts instead. She needs to be committed. Otherwise we might as well say goodbye now, because she IS going to overdose. And she IS going to die. Soon. And then she'll become just another cliche footnote in pop history, when she had the potential to one of the best jazz voices of her generation. For me it always gets to a point with addicts where they've crossed the line from being confused, insecure victim to simply being selfish. Okay, Amy, your father deserted the family for another woman when you were little and you have abandonment issues with men forevermore. Get over it. He loves you and apparently has been trying to make up for it for the past 8 years already. He's almost pushing 60 and he literally trying to beat your junkie leech friends off you with his bare hands. Why not give him a break already? Are you going to make him pay for that for the rest of his life? Fine, kids teased you for being an ugly little Jew girl with kinky hair, so what. You and I both have relatives gassed for that very reason 40 some years ago, at least you're here. Eat a sandwhich and embrace your outer shell. Being blond and weighing 3 pounds does NOT work for you. Nor will it ever. Etta james already tried this exact "make-over" when she was your age. She will tell you that a diet of heroin,cocaine, mixed with bottled blond hair color, is not going to cure you of your self-esteem ills. Ask her. You might learn something. Your mother's ill, yes we know. But at least you still still have her amongst the living. What are you going to do, on top of everything else she has to deal with medically are you going to reward her with watching her youngest child walk amongst the living dead? That's a fine how do you do, Missy. And it's time for father to stop babying you. If I see one more interview with him talking about how broken hearted he is and it's his fault and daddy loves you and how he is proud to be your dad and you're going to sort herself out soon enough I'm going to vomit. Though it is true that a drug addict will only get better after they hit rock bottom, Amy looks like she's already there to me and the next step for her is DEATH. It's time to stop playing the cool understanding father out of guilt and pull a Mrs.Nat King Cole on her ass. Give that child credit enough for having half a brain when she's not whacked out of her mind...look at the level of lyricism in the music she writes... She's not a (complete)idiot. A mind like hers is MORE than capable and would likely respond very well to INTENSE pyschiatric treatment. She's not a dullard like her current American counterpart B. Spears, a sober and restrained Amy has the ability to actually comprehend and apply the theories of Freud and Jung to her life 
Ok, enough... rant over. I'm just mega sick of this newer generation of young celebrities who are thankful for nothing, demand or whine about everything...AND the parents who because of some misguided thing many are doing these days, where they pose as friends before they act as protectors and disciplinarians. It's ENOUGH already. I'm barely pushing 40 and I simply cannot relate to what these "under-30's" are doing with themselves. Damn.

That was tough to watch! I hope she can get out of it before she kills herself. But even if they had forcibly taken her to rehab, it's still up to her if she wants to change and if she's ready. No matter what anyone does, you can't make anyone do something if they don't want to make that change.

I think it was tasteless for the media to post this video for public viewing... it really is, and it's kind of upsetting. Can you imagine a recovering addict watching this and end up having a relapse? The urge or addiction is not easy to overcome. And it's pretty low to show someone's low point in life to everyone who doesn't have any business to have knowledge of.

The initial reports that she was forcibly taken to rehab were false, she was just at an appointment at that quack doctor who's been "treating" her for the last months.
However, as of today, her family, friends, AND (surprisingly) her record label have banded together and they threw her ass in a rehabilitation hospital where she BELONGS. Now the police need to do a clean sweep of her flat and all those junkie hangers-on who are leeching off her and her pad. Make her face charges if she has to. It's time for tough love with this girl, she has too much to offer artistically and too much fear of failure and HERSELF for it to be otherwise. | |

She's over-rated. Most of the songs on Back in Black all sound the same and her current state is one boring cliche typical of the skank ass, London-centric, pretentious drivel spouting, tortured artist bollocks that has been going around since the likes of Doherty and Moss started to make looking painfully thin and coked up 'fashionable'.

Not that it matters, but I don't think that was crack. Unfortunately, I know dopeheads, and I've never seen it smoked in glass pipes like that. Cocaine and heroin are smoked through tubes like empty pens or bascially any metal tube. She was probably just smoking weed. | |

Police Assess Amy Winehouse Footage
Posted: January 23, 2008 LONDON (AP) -- Scotland Yard started an investigation Wednesday into a video that allegedly shows troubled British singer Amy Winehouse smoking crack. The British tabloid, The Sun, released grainy footage showing Grammy-nominated Winehouse, 24, inhaling fumes from a pipe. The video was reportedly shot hours before she attended a court hearing for her jailed husband. Police will look at the video before deciding whether any charges should be brought against Winehouse, a Metropolitan Police spokesman said while speaking on condition of anonymity in line with force policy. The Sun gave the police the video, he said. Winehouse spokesman Shane O'Neill said he was unable to comment on the investigation. Winehouse's father, Mitch Winehouse, said in an interview with The Sun that he was devastated by the images and hoped it would prompt his daughter to turn her life around."Your video of Amy taking drugs may well be the best thing that has ever happened to her," the newspaper quoted him as saying. Universal Records, Winehouse's record label, said it would do what it could to help her."We are deeply disappointed and upset by these latest revelations and are doing everything we can to offer Amy our full support in dealing with her problems," it said in a statement Tuesday. | |
