This is unbelievable to watch. Funny, cute...just Mike being Mike.

If you are intereted there are more parts from this deposition on youtube.
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

In the first video he was saying let the song base, piano and words tell you what to do... and let the song force itself on you.. and that is probably what he was singing about in the song Dont stop til you get enough

Chorus of DONT STOP TIL YOU GET ENOUGH

Keep On With The Force Don't Stop
Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough
Keep On With The Force Don't Stop
Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough
Keep On With The Force Don't Stop
Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough
Keep On With The Force Don't Stop
Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough

he was telling the force... I wonder what that force is... now im starting to suspect michael...

Honestly, it is not easy to describe something like songwriting when it comes to you as thoughts and sounds, so I understand why he starts giving visuals or abstract answers.

Absolutely. I thought the description of trying to catch a leaf was very apt.

It was the delivery that tickled me.

I think Mike´s very good at explaining himself. There are more parts to this. IT´s a total of 4 hours footage, but later on he doesn´t speak about the songwriting. But it´s still funny to watch how he can be incredibly polite yet cheeky while the lawer treats him like an idiot. I think Mike´s politeness drives him crazy a bit because he´s trying to make him freak out and he doesn´t succee.
Sometimes he keeps on asking Mike some theoretical questions about music and he puts his questions in such a funny way that at one moment when the lawer asks him if he understands what´s he is talking about, Mike answers that he is not sure that HE knows what he´s talking about. It´s very funny.

Mike sure has his funny way of explaining himself, but I love it.

Here´s the very first part of the deposition. He´s talking about how he started in the business etc.

I have this footage as well, maybe I'll watch it again, it's been too long. I loved how he described the songwriting. Also I cracked up when he took 10 hours to spell his name for the lawyer.

Yes. It was not only about The Girl Is Mine. The lawsuit concerned We Are The World and Thriller as well. Of course, Mike won the case.

are you sure? hmm

if so, it's so silly We Are The World is cowritten with Lionel Ritchie and Thriller is solely written by Rod Temperton

Yeah, during the deposition you´ll find out that Mike basically wrote the whole We are the world and Lionel wrote only the melody of the beginning of the chorus "we are the worl, we are the children."

Here´s the original demo of The Girl Is Mine that they played in the courtroom, but I can´t find the actual footage. I found just this, which is a sort of video made to the demo. But the demo is amazing. I like it more than the released version.

Wow, so the recent TGIM remix is basically a remix of the demo!

Hmm, I just notice that I have that demo since 5 years already... totally forgot about it!
