Good evening ladies and gentlemen! This is your friendly Purple Friend Purplecam in the house and as you know, the best show on TV is coming back tonight, American Idol!!!!! A lot has happened since season 6 ended. Jordin Sparks, season 6's winner and Blake Lewis, the runner up, have both released albums and sales have been modest, though Jordin has a top 10 hit with the song Tattoo. Looks like season 7 is going to be wild and crazy just like the last 6 seasons. Will you be watching this season? Are you looking forward to what's in store? Im sure the network is going to get in alot of plugs for Randy's upcoming cd with tons of special guests, like Mariah Carey, Joss Stone,Katharine Mcphee and Paula Abdul to name a few, im sure they will get in something at some point. I think they have figured that they may have hit their peak with AI sales and now they may want to bank on an all-star album.

WHHYYYYY. I was hoping that I didn't have to hear "OMG did you watch AI last night?!" for a while.

I hate that I love this show. Every year there are people that deserve to be in the running and get axed because of the BS looks factor and then America usually proves itself the worst arbiter of musical talent by axing the most talented people week after week. But I CANNOT! stop watching

Oh, and it's always fun watching Paula's antics Whether it's the WTF? hairdo or clapping like a seal or bitchfighting with Simon. Love that she's a judge

Well, I'll definitely not be glued to the tv, watiting for every new show, but I'll watch the first month or so, just for the "delusionals."

If there is ever a time to watch it, it's now. The first contestant, Joey was great. I'm waiting to see what happenes next.

To be honest, and to make a guess this early, with my eyes closed and listening i would say Chris Watson (the guy with the dreads) and that girl, something something cook, the girl that sold her horse to get money for the trip. Mainly because they didnt do any vocal scats and acrobatic shit which i cant stand, they both seem to have to good controlled voices, hopefully they dont turn into "overdramatic" singers.

I've been watching this show religiously since season 2, but for some reason I get this feeling that AI isn't going to be that big in the ratings this year, despite what all of the critics have been saying about it being the biggest game in town because of the writers strike. Granted, it's not anywhere close to being canceled, but I have this feeling that once the scripted TV dramas and comedies run out of episodes by the end of this month and get replaced by inane reality TV crap, people are going to get sick of reality shows, and Idol, Dancing With The Stars, and Survivor are all going to take massive hits in the ratings.

cha know...this is the first time ive ever watched the season debut of american idol (damn you WGA strike) and this is mighty uncomfortable to sit through...i feel bad for these kids...and america.
