Watch this all the way as it is so funny. Reminiscent of Prince? Ya think?!

Now here is the video for it. Turn your speakers up, close your eyes, and listen.....I can heavily hear a Prince influence in there! From beginning to end actually smile Oh the hell well!

anyways, he has an unreleased album floating around cyberspace titled Love For Sale that's hotter than ANYTHING that Prince has done in the last 15 years.

Love for Sale was my fav album of 2006, with Van Hunt's popular also shelved means that the 2 best soul based albums of the decade IMO will never be heard by the masses.
I'm just dying to know who played what on Love for Sale. I know SA-RA produced a few tracks but that's about it.
The Fela cover/tribute is hot hot hot.

cool He definitely is influenced by Prince. Every now & then i hear something from him that has a Prince sound. It seems like a lot of artist(s) lately are copying off of Prince sound.

lol..Bilal was on BET a few years ago and claimed he wasn't really influenced by Prince. He said his singing style was reared more from gospel. Despite that he is a good singer.

yeah, I can see the chuch sound in him. That's right: chuch.

I hear more Mayfield, too, than Prince. The falsetto, I guess, fuels the Prince comparison.

Perhaps his vocal style and melody is influenced by Prince. But he doesn't have the sexy/dirty/raw Funk/Punk/Rock style and aesthetic like Prince. Now a figure like that today would be something to see. nod I don't even think his music is really that influenced by Prince. Prince had catchy melodies derived from JB, Sly, Dr. Funkenstein, and other old school funk cats.

Ummm...okay. Let's get one thing clear. Since Prince himself admits that he steals licks, that means that it's kind of a moot point for you or anyone to say that people are copying Prince.

I've seen that performance, and I don't care for his live singing at all - mainly because someone had to engineer him HEAVILY in the studio to get the sound they god. However, to this day, I still rock First Born Second at least three times a year. It's one of the most solid CD's to come out this decade. It's got everything hip hop, neo-soul moments, funk moments, and his unique stamp.

for those that don't check okayplayer.com regularly...
?uesto put up the soundboard mix as an MP3. Since I've Been Loving you segues into Everything In It's Right Place, which segues into Sometimes. Killer performance.
