Give it up for Old-school Hip-Hop!

I've been on some kind of old-school hip-hop "high" these past few days. After becoming a bit bored with the current indie-rock scene and having little interest in current rap music me and some co-workers listened to almost exclusively old-school hip-hop at a slow day at work recently. I just wanted to share with y'all some of the tracks I've been diggin'. Some of these tracks might have become clichés for those who grew up with them , especially those living in USA, but alot of this stuff is relatively "fresh" for me... or at least fun! biggrin

Grandmaster Flash - White Lines: http://youtube.com/watch?v=yGFn-Q_FN44

Old school hip-hop is the best.

I love Slick Rick's, "Ladi Dadi"

Common's, "I Used to Love Her"

Eric B. and Rakim's, "Don't Sweat the Technique" and "Paid in Full"

I could go on and on.....
Remember when u told me that love was touching souls?
Well, surely u touched mine. O{+>

Is there any other kind of hip hop? cool It's the music of my childhood. Love all those tunes listed so far. I started listening to rap in about 1983, and the first one to really blow my mind was Ladi Dadi. At the time - and since, if you ask me - there was nothing like it.

I stopped watching American Idol before the finale this past season, so I missed this embarassing clip
