I'm Obsessed with Amy Winehouse

I've been working at home and have had "He Can Only Hold Her" on repeat for like 5 hours...



Even while I was "debating" someone about the Iraq war in P&R.



I sometimes YouTube her.

(Her live version of "Stronger Than Me" on the Jools Holland show is really something... )

I even emailed LleeLlee, who told me I was behind the times, but I didn't care.



I want to update her wikipedia page with beautiful prose.

I checked out her first album recently and it was nice. I think her newer work is overrated and people hype her up more than she deserves. I respect that she's doing a different style of music that pays a tribute to 60's r&b, but she annoys me and her voice isn't as good as it used to be.

I wouldn't say obssessed, but I've definitely been listening much more than normal.. In particular 'You Send Me Flying' and 'Fuck Me Pumps'... Her delivery in the latter tune, in particular, is just money...

I felt like I was too for awhile, but that doesn't mean I think she's the best thing ever the way people make her out to be. My mom is so funny, I tried to show her the rehab video for a good laugh, she saw her lying on the bed and rolled her eyes, saying she looks like prince and this is crap (and she likes prince and will often say 'that sounds like a prince song' )

Amy is a real talent and I hope she gets her act together soon. If she does, she will go very far in the business and will still be around many years from now. If not, well.....

I played her out by April. Back to Black is a fantastic song. Video is even better.

I like her good. I'll admit I'm a sucker for the nostalgia trip she's been working musically.

I hope she gets her shit together and takes care of herself and lives a long, healthy, happy life. The music world doesn't need another Janis.
