it's definitely interesting having two versions of that song from her.

even though the 94 version was mad powerful vocally, but the new one is more soulful to me.

I generally enjoy the way of singing she adapted, starting from I Still Believe. Very raw, soulful and straight from the heart.

You know MC’s Xmas album is probably one of the most loved or talked about holiday albums of recent years. I don’t have it yet but I think it will be the one I get this year.

I see this is available as a dual disc with videos included for only 14.99!

Oh and this says it will be released Nov 20 but there's no pre-order note or pricing yet. Hmm... If the price is right, this is the ultimate stocking stuffer.

What I love about Mariah and her Christmas album is that she released a true timeless classic in the tradition of Bing Crosby, Judy Garland, Nat King Cole and John Lennon. There are a lot of artists who have released Xmas singles and albums, but most of them are either half-hearted wack attempts at Christmas cheer or retreads of other classic Christmas songs, but Mariah released something truly original.

I don’t understand why some singers bother to make Christmas albums. They sound like regular songs with the words ‘snow’, ‘open fires’ and ‘holiday’ and suddenly it’s a Christmas song but it could easily be mistaken for a track off of one of their non-holiday albums.

Was it confirmed for the USA? I havent seen a confirmation for the release here, only Japan and the UK.

It was supposed to come out right before Christmas, so i'd guess that means it's rescheduled for early 08.
