Samhain (pronounced: sow-en) is a pagan holiday that is celebrated on October 31. It marks the end of Summer and the beginning of Winter.

In the past, Samhain was a festival for the time between the old year and the new year.

So why no Halloween for you ?

anything that glorifies satan, hell, witchs, demons, the cult.. is something that i TAKE NO PART IN... but i know that most kids think its about candy.. and i understand that... but just the fact that it has spiders, ghost aka(demons), skeletons, and worms... its just something isn't right...
when i was a kid i would be upset when my mom didn't let me go school for halloween... or if did go.. i wasn't able to participate in activities... but now that im older i seriously truely understand.... its more then just candy...

how do people know that all those things are in hell...????

I don't think Pagan = Satan/Demons.

Christmas is also a pagan holiday or at least started as one.

You gotta check out Roky Erickson and the Aliens' "The Evil One" from 1980. It's practically a Halloween ALBUM.

Night of the Vampire
I Walked With A Zombie
Bloody Hammer
Don't Shake me Lucifer
I Think Up Demons
The Creature With The Atom Brain
Two-Headed Dog
...and more!

Roky's not too well known but should be, awesome singer & songwriter. He hits LA on Halloween weekend, an event I am REALLY looking forward to!

And there's horror-punk gawds the MISFITS. Songs? Take your pick, practically everything they ever write was about mosters or demons or what not. And they have not one but TWO songs entitled Halloween! Other top picks: Ghoul's Night Out, Braineaters, Green Hell, Earth AD, Teenagers from Mars, Mommy Can I Go Out And Kill Tonight, Hatebreeder...

Other obscure weirdo-rock choices you can seek out (try emusic.com):
MX-80 Sound: Theme from Halloween
The Kinks: Wicked Annabella
Sonics: The Witch
Patti Smith: Ghost Dance
King Crimson: The Court of the Crimson King
Didjits: Sweet Sweet Satan

I wanna make a mix cd for my class.
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

Artist : JOHN ZORN

Album 1 : ELGEY

Album 2 : THE BIG GUNDOWN track 8 Metamorfosi
track 5 is cool too, but not scary
actually both albums are worth it IMO

oh and Tre Nel 5000 on THE BIG GUNDOWN is nice and creepy too,,

okay and 'once upon a time in the west'

THE BIG GUNDOWN is a soundtrack from a movie and is like creepy 70's western acid trip

and ELGEY is like chamber music on acid

both EXCELLENT

biggrin

I friggin LOVE this song! Brilliant 80s industrial track...man that one brings me back to high school.

I love Halloween...my fave holiday. I don't understand people who won't celebrate it. I mean I am Christian but I always knew its about imagination, playing pranks, scaring each other, having fun, and of course THE CANDY! Any holiday that celebrates Snickers, 3 Musketeers, and Butterfingers can't truly be evil.
