Junior Walker's Performance of "Shotgun" at Motown 25

It is complete and utter bulls*it that they only gave him 27 seconds to perform! He deserved better than that. What the hell was Motown thinking? Just as I start getting into the performance, it suddenly ends sad . Does anyone know what their reasoning was for this?
