1970s Funk Groove of the Day: Herbie Hancock "Ready or Not"

Co-written with Ray Parker Jr., this jam from jazz painist great Herbie Hancock was the lead single from his 1979 album "Feets, Don't Fail Me Now." On this album, Hancock had little in common with jazz but he really brought the funk.

"Ready or not when the rhythm gets hot/We're gonna get you high!
SHAKE! SHAKE! We're gonna make the temperature rise!"
THE TRAFFIC JAMMERS, The Org's house band: VAINANDY -- lead singer; NAJEE -- bass; THE AUDIENCE -- guitar; PHUNKDADDY -- rhythm guitar; ALEX de PARIS -- keyboards; Da PRETTYMAN -- keyboards; FUNKENSTEIN -- drums. HOLD ON TO YOUR DRAWERS!
