definitely one of the best songs this year, that goes for both umbrella and don't stop the music cause of the mj sample

umbrella is all over the radio still, it's hard to get away from but I still love it and haven't gotten sick of it like I thought I would have by now. I love the harmonies in the chorus and how it builds up as the song goes on. It makes me think of the 80's for some reason, anyone else feel like that?

Of course its a good song. Its up there with Timbaland's recent classics. Isn't much else in the way of good pop music out there mind.

I seriously think the appetite for proper songs is as great now as it ever was, but the industry has been infiltrated by people who Just Can't Do It. That means the younger audience has been raised on non melodies and lazy lyrics, and yet when songs come along that hint at those old school values, like Gnarles Barkley's Crazy, some of Kelly Clarkson's stuff, and even Rehab to some extent, they tend to do really well.

It sounds like a Grace JOnes song.

I have a habit of turning on the radio while driving, to check for traffic and all and that way I get to hear what's on. I like to catch old school music at times too and I hear prince every now and then

I agree that umbrella's melody is strong though it doesn't compare to old school

The somg is really good and well written. I think you people just don't like how it's sung

It's a very good song. It really doesn't need the guest rap at the beginning though - that's the trashy commercial aspect of it, not the arrangements or Rihanna's vocal arrangement.
