Love Huey and all the different "News" members through the years. Been a fan since about 2000 or 2001. Saw them live in 2002 or 2003 and loved the show. Huey is one of the few singers who knows how to ACTUALLY sing as opposed to just showing off his voice. They are so under-rated, it is sad. They deserve more props. I don't think people realize just how many hits they have.

-Do You Believe In Love
-I Want A New Drug
-Bad Is Bad
-Heart and Soul
-Hip To Be Square
-If This Is It
-Power Of Love
-Stuck With You
-Workin' For A Livin'

Just to a name a few....

Plus, their newest album, "Plan B" is the shit. Love it. music

One more thing worth noting, Huey Lewis usually dresses like a straight up mack during his shows, all slick in the sports-jacket. Gotta give the man his style points.

Now I just wish Huey and his boys would come to KC more often!!!!

The band catches a great deal of flack from the hipster crowd but they wrote some catchy Pop tunes.

I especially like the way guitarist Chris Hayes always played to the song and didn't just try and show off his more than adequate playing skills.
Very similar to the way Mike Allsup approached the guitar parts for the Pop group Three Dog Night.

thumbs up! Mainstream pop rock is pretty much a thing of the past, and I think the only way stuff like this is appreciated anymore is if it's referenced or performed mockingly or in irony. I like Huey Lewis & The News up until about the time of their input on the Back to the Future soundtrack. With a few exceptions, their formula (if you want to call it that) seemed a bit watered down to me after that point.

And Huey was in an Altman film (Short Cuts) so he gets a pass from me. biggrin

Patrick Bateman was a huge fan. Read/watch "American Psycho".

I always thought Huey was bollocks m'self.

nod Despite the fact that this group was 80's pop darlings, I would have to say that their live performances is what did them justice.
