the most underrated jackson 5 song is....

I Am Love part 1/part 2

nobody gives this song credit! Jermaine's voice over the slow beat is simplicity at it's best and the buildup is something out of this world! I loooove the guitars over the dance beat, gives me chills. Has anyone seen the performance from the Cher show? It aired on VH1 years ago and I was lucky to get it on tape

I pulled out my dancing machine/moving violation CD after such a long time and had forgotten how great it was. I also listened to goin places after ages(destiny and triumph made it sound too simple to enjoy but I've come to appreciate it) and it saddens me that most mj fans don't give a shit about this brilliant material he and his brothers put out

when I like something or someone, I have to go all out and own everything related or else I can't fully appreciate it

I agree and love this song. Can’t believe it’s not talked about more often. I wish they did more songs like this.

Yeah it's a great song and Jermaine has an amazing voice, I've always loved his voice but I think the most underrated J5 songs are "Can You Remember" and "It's Great To Be Here". I absolutely love those two songs music.
"And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ heart

"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always heart

"Maria" & "I was made to love her" are gems that are slept on. I am not sure if they are solo MJ products or J5 joints, but excellent songs.

I am not surprise you pick those biggrin If you love funk/dance those were the jams. Apparently Hum Along and Dance is an underground hit in clubs nowadays.

Most underrated J5 song;
Darling Dear. A 12 yr old Michael and Jamerson on bass is something else.

lol Not much difference. Even if he was 18 and he sang that song it was stilll brilliantly done.

There are way too many to mention, but that one definitely ranks as a strong contender. I Am Love is cool, but it takes itself a bit too seriously for me. A bit like the soul equivalent of prog rock. But then I never liked Isaac Hayes's Hot Buttered Soul either. Everyone else loves it, but I found it too pompous.
MV on the other hand is just pure ecstacy from start to finish, yet no one even seems to know it.

It is. It's one of the last albums they did for Motown. Moving Violation is the name of the song from the album too.

I don't have the album but I always thought it was a Jacksons song? Michael's voice sounds mature in that song. It doesn't sound like J5 Michael to me.

It's the last studio album they did for Motown as the Jackson 5. It's even on that Mexico concert that was released from 1975.

"It's Great to Be Here"

Two hits that are underrated:
"Mama's Pearl"
"Sugar Daddy"
"Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

I just listened to get it together awhile ago and the last track I had playing was hum along and dance. I didn't care much for the track when I first heard it years ago but I felt like I already knew it for some reason. The booklet for the skywriter/get it together compliation talks about get it together being an underground club hit (or maybe that was moving violation)

some more underrated gems

boogie man
forever came today
stand
nobody
one more chance
rhythm child

I also agree that all i do is think of you is an underrated track, a perfect blend of young michael and adult michael evolving. It reminds me a little bit of happy from the music & me album

That's because Michael was 16, 17 years old at the time. His voice had changed dramatically from the older days. He was able to bring his mature tenor to Motown before he left the label altogether.
