Living Colour founder/guitarist Vernon Reid and turntablist DJ Logic bring their psychedelica-induced electronica funk collab into the LA area in June.


The main gig is the Grand Performances Street Festival at California Plaza's Watercourt Stage in Downtown Los Angeles on Jun 10 2007. The headline spot goes to local funk-rock en espanol-hiphop band Ozomatli, so YB fans should plan on an early arrival.

Hardcore Reid fans will want to get up close and personal the night before at Santa Monica's Temple Bar where Yohimbe Brothers will set in for a warm-up gig. http://templebarlive.com/

Yohimbe Brothers pioneered a mix of avant-jazzfunk guitar against a sonic assault of turntable scratches and buzzes built around a 7 piece band. There are two legit releases out on ROPEADOPE records. The 2002 premiere

FRONT-END LIFTER was a bit of a mixed-affair (cover features an graphic take on big 'fro girl from Funkadelic's MAGGOT BRAIN, but the underground feel of the 2004 follow-up
