i like laibach sometimes. they're fun to stomp around the apartment to in one's underwear after a shower. not much else, though.

why does bossa nova need an edge? part of the appeal of it is how mellow and airy it is. i mean, i appreciate the remix stuff of bebel's, but i always thought it was just to keep a "contemporary" edge to her while her albums lean more to the traditional. which is what i like about her.


exactly. remixes are nice, but I really don't see the point of making a downtempo version of a bossa nova song.

falloff.....have you ever been to Ibiza in the 90's when 'downtempo' started?? All you heard was bossa nova songs remixed into 'downtempo', only calling it lounge.....I'm sorry, but downtempo definitely has it's origins in Europe, european DJ's like K&D (just 1 example, there are lots more & better) were doing this all the time, remixing bossa nova.....Bebel & her dad were favorites.....
