Yes, all their albums up to Small Talk are re-released, remastered and expanded, and a box set also. It includes 7 discs, I suppose it's just the individual albums combined.

according to Spin CD.com:

"the first seven Sly & the Family Stone studio albums will be re-releases. All have been remastered and include bonus tracks and new liner notes. We've heard (unconfirmed) that this will be one limited run before the CDs are deleted and then only available as digital downloads, so get them while you can. Click on the following titles to 'pre-order': 1) Their 1967 debut, 'A Whole New Thing' "The reissue includes five rarities, including the previously unreleased instrumental version of "You Better Help Yourself" and the single edits of "Underdog" and "Let Me Hear It From You." 2) From May 1968, 'Dance to the Music'. Bonus tracks on the reissue include "Higher," "I Can't Turn You Loose" and the previously unreleased original "We Love All." 3) Also from 1968, 'Life'. "The new edition includes the previously unreleased songs "Seven More Days" and "Pressure," an instrumental take of "Sorrow" and the single edit of "Dynamite!"" 4) 1969's 'Stand!'. The reissue includes previously unreleased "Soul Clappin II," the instrumental "My Brain (Zig-Zag)" and the mono single version of "You Can Make It if You Try." 5) 1970's 'There's a Riot Goin' On' The expanded edition will boast three previously unreleased instrumentals and the mono single version of "Runnin' Away." 6) 'Fresh' from 1973. The new version adds alternate mixes of "Let Me Have It All" and "Frisky" plus a previously unreleased alternate version of "Babies Makin' Babies." 7) From 1974 'Small Talk'. Bonus tracks include the previously unreleased "Crossword Puzzle," the instrumental "Positive" and alternate takes of "Time for Livin'" and "Loose Booty."

hmmm I wonder if they mean an alternate take of 'Crossword Puzzle', since this track is on Sly's 'High On You' Album (1975).....

It will be a really unpleasant struggle to decide wether or not to get all those. I think I will have to settle with Stand, Riot and Fresh for now. Maybe Life, too. There's too many other stuff for me to get soon.

Why doesn't the fresh extended edition include the opening track In Time, one of the best songs on the album?

oh ok I got confused, I just can't picture that album without that song, Fresh was perfection, and to think Sly played most of the parts himself.

Yes, isn't it? Such an amazing, unique album. Do you prefer it above Riot?

no, I like to judge albums on their own terms, in this case Fresh is like the sister album to riot the way I see it, like a more upbeat riot, starting over and being positive hints the title, where riot is seen as murking and depressing.

but I like them both on the same level
