Timbaland rips off song from Finnish musician for Nelly Furtado? [you be the judge]

Oh, NO! Timbaland RIPPED OFF a chiptune demo song for Nelly Furtado's "Do It." Which was my number one jam on that album. Currently lots of controversy swirling around about this.

Hear it for yourself:

Here is another response to that video:

In the comments someone wrote, "We were tipped off that Timbaland actually sold a reworked ring-tone of the actual Amiga .MOD-file adding a new drumbeat on it but following the pattern of the original file. It has been sold as a ringtone since 2005 under the title "Block Party" so he got money for the song before the nelly furtado hit" [...yet no source was cited]

Who do believe?

Well this is why this "Beat Producer" era will always be flawed. Since music and beats are so easy and cheap to do, and then people just put things out there (you tube, myspace) so they can be noticed, of course they are gonna get ripped off. If people steal and download music for free, dont you think a produceror beat maker isnt going to take something, lets be real here.

Haha. That's as Finnish as it gets. A ringtone of an Amiga .mod-file.

I already answer that question in THAT previous thread on the same subject. Timbo has a lawsuit coming real soon.

My bad. I knew you'd probably be on top of this. You have a definite knowledge of electronics and programming tools.

If you wrote "Do It" or Furtado somewhere in the head I'd probably be quicker to click. smile

Nevertheless, I stil want this as a single. I need to hear this song on a huge club soundsystem by summer or BUST.

That second video makes it crystal clear. "Block Party" sounds exactly like the Janne Suni (aka Tempest, the finnish composer) tune. A drum beat was added. That was all. That's outright freaking theft!!! It's not sampling... not even close... Adding drums is not sampling!!

I'm astounded by the ignorance of the youtube posters... This is ILLEGAL!

lol Aren't all the videos like that?

But it's not really redundant/obvious... Most posters think what Timbaland did was legal.

George Bush has proposed that 20,000+ more troops be sent in to Timbaland to help bring the nation under control and to allow the Timbalese to govern their own nation and deal with terrorism, unrest, sectarian violence, civil war, and anarchy.
Stability is greatly needed in Timbaland ever since its former ruthless dictator and genocidal ruler, Tiny Timba, was hung for crimes against humanity.
