What song is sampled by Fergie...

My kids are young (9, 11 and 13) and they think that Fergie's new songs are good. I was trying to tell them today that the music from "Fergilicous" is sampled from some other song, but I can not remember the name of it.

Anybody know what song I'm talking about?

Also, I kind of think that her "rap" in this song has the same rhythm as the rap in "Supersonic" by JJ Fad. Anybody else think so?

No. We all KNOW so! That talentless hag wouldn't know an original musical concept if it bit her on her nasty ass! How she's getting over just baffles the hell out of me! disbelief

You're right, if you're talking about "Fergalicious" it directly interpolates J.J. FAD's "Supersonic" (1988).

IT's funny because they brought this up on the Howard Stern show and the gang almost accussed her of ripping off the song and they went back and worth about whether that was legal since you can take so many beats or somehting without giving a credit (like with "My Sweet Lord"...apparently the exteremly simlar girl group song that I think is "He's So Fine" didn't give that song credit). Then someone actually checked the liner notes and noticed, yeah, they get credit!

music Roxanne Shante "Wack It"

"...I was really thinkin about some things that make me mad
How could you get a gold record when you sound like J.J. Fad?
I mean come on, let's be for real, I mean I didn't wanna say it
But their shit was so wack, yo, this one I know you'll play it
    ..."

There is a portion starting about 3/4 of the way in, during Will.I.Am's rap, that samples "It's More Fun To Compute" by Kraftwerk.

lol Really! When I was looking online trying to find the song that is sampled (before coming here), I read that she also samples The Glamorous Life in one of her new songs.

Fergie & will.i.am copy the vocal medley of JJ Fad's Supersonic.

I think this kind of rhyme flow is making a comeback.

it was called "give it all you got" by afro rican

the vein of it was the miami bass style music from the late 80s....will n fergie even used the break down from it as well. and also she borrows from supersonic in the rap like you stated. smile

Classic track. I also love "pocket calculator" off this album. "i am the operator of my pocket calculator"...sick shit.

Kraftwerk headlined at a festival me and my band were playing at a few years back, they were incredible live. Bumped into them backstage as well, cool guys.

Someone asked me, possibly on orgnote, what was the sample during this portion:

Baby, baby, baby,
If you really want me,
Honey get some patience.
Maybe then you'll get a taste.
I'll be tasty, tasty,
I'll be laced with lacey.
It's so tasty, tasty,
It'll make you crazy.

Well, it's "Night Train" by James Brown.

Of course, Fergie/will.i.am used "Give It All You Got" by Afro-Rican, which actually contained different samples from Kraftwerk, James Brown, and Foxy.
