on another site that I visit, someone explained why certain scenes are deleted. Some of this information suprised me,but I guess it makes sense...

The DVD version is the complete theatrical version that was shown in theatres in 1976/77.

The "extra scenes" with Danny Devito (playing "Joe") and Brooke Adams (playing his wife Terry) were never shown in the theatrical version. These are scenes that were added to the TV version. When the movie appeared on TV,they had to cut several scenes that featured bad words. To make up for this, and to make the film longer, they added several scenes that were previously left on the cutting room floor. Thus, those of us who saw it on TV back then were probably going "wtf?....we didn't see these scenes in the theatre!" lol

Not sure if this is entirely true, but it makes sense. To those of you "old schoolers" who saw it in theatres, were the Danny Devito scenes in the film that you saw? I honestly can't remember,as I was only 7 years old, lol.

...

DANG! It's time for a director's cut ! falloff

[img]Talking about deleted scenes ... there happen to exist skipped scenes with Danny Devito too .
And another lady with a Woods backname was credited in the deleted scenes

rest of cast listed alphabetically:

- Brooke Adams .... Terry (scenes deleted)
- Benny Baker .... Barney (scenes deleted)
- Danny DeVito .... Joe (scenes deleted)
- Lewis Lillian .... Bernie (scenes deleted)
- Danny Tucker .... Cop at Big Joe's (scenes deleted)
- Sunny Woods .... Kenny's Date (scenes deleted)

The lady you are referring to is Lauren Woods, who played the hooker. Some of her scenes were deleted too.She spent alot of time at the fast food joint across the street from the car wash (where "Joe" and "Terry" worked). She actually became close friends with Terry and we learn that the two of them both have boyfriends named Joe.Terry's man is a very jealous type and at one point,he angrily walks out on her. They eventually make up at the end while the hooker never finds her "Joe".

Awyeah , the hot gal with the orange wig ... now that you mentioned it ... she had some resemblence with Ren's face ( imho ) ... could be sista's shrug

I studied the cover below , and see another persona which i missed to see in the movie .
It's the lady , pictured in a small proportion next to Richard Pryor .
She has long blonde hair and a red top ... or was that Lauren's outfit before she changed clothes in the Carwash-toilet and wrote that message to Joe on the mirror ? confuse ... too long ago that i've watched it lol

ThePunisher

I love the movie but with all the deleted scenes you all are talking about, I won't buy the DVD. My favorite parts of the movie. The synchronized dance scene with the two brothers (Lloyd and Floyd) working the vacuum hoses. George Carlin walking around asking anyone he could find if they'd seen a Blonde haired black girl. That obnoxious kid with the skateboard who finally got his @$$ whupped by his mama towards the end. and TRACY REED!!!! YEAHHHHH!!!!
