GET YO APPRECIATION ON FOR - "REBIRTH OF SLICK (COOL LIKE DAT)"

Damn this was the muthafuckin jizzam back on the day! The 1st group to seriously use Jazz as a backdrop for their raps (I think Guru started the Jazzmatazz series around then as well). Ladybug could flow! So many memorable lines from that jam, it ain't even funny! (Him, that's my man with the asteroid belt) - DAMN I MISS HIP HOP!

Digable, X-Clan, P.E., Digital Underground, Brand Nubian, ATCQ, De La, Mos Def, Pete Rock and CL, The JBs, Guru/Gangstarr, Mos Def, Talib, Common, Dr. Dre, and Rakim - COME SAVE US!

It's funny you posted this because I just recently started listening to 'Blowout Comb' again. That album, I'm quite confident in saying, may be the most underrated in rap/hip-hop history.

I liked 'Reachin' when it first came out but it smelled slightly faddish to me. With the whole 'Blue Note' thing going on. But they put it down nicely on that 2nd joint.

Love the Digables! "Where I'm From" (original and remix) was my joint!

LOVE this track! I started getting more into this kind of hip hop-Common, Jurassic 5, etc.-a little while ago and it's really hard to take a lot of the "hit pop" as Namepeace calls it seriously after you hear stuff like this.
