"Greatest" seems to mean biggest in this case which is why Sarah is on the list unfortunately. And Patti predates the whole alternative thing. It's like calling The Stooges punk. I mean of course they are punk, but they aren't "punk" if what I'm saying makes any sense.

Kate Bush predates the alternative movement too.

Kate hit her peak in the 80s when college radio was all the rage. To me anything after R.E.M.'s first album is the alternative era.

C'mon guys, those women don't push people's buttons the way the top four do.

I love Tori and Björk (I always carry something from them on my mp3 player), but I don't dig PJ...

Best magazine cover ever!

They're like The Fates or The Furies or something.

I just imagine them fighting over the magical eye that they all share. lol

I'm so sick of hearing that! Liz hit first. Sheryl didn't get popular until 1994. And Liz was far more original.

The irony of it is that Liz has turned into a Sheryl Crow clone during the past couple albums. sad

Where is that pic from? Björk looks so bored. lol

Everytime I see Björk and PJ together I have to mention one of my favorite Rasputina songs about their fictional double date, "PJ + Vincent & Matthew + Bjork" (warning - contains explicit language).
