Our Lady Peace did an okay version of this on the soundtrack for The Craft. That reminds me – I once saw Our Lady Peace at First Ave and as they sang “Strawberry Fields Forever,” the crowd really died down. I looked around the room and, like, four people knew the words. I bet the majority of the crowd thought the band was trying out some ‘new material.’ Most folks were there to hear the song “Superman’s Dead,” but c’mon – it’s The freakin’ Beatles, people!! Got to get you into my life - Earth Wind and Fire Come Together - Michael Jackson Here Comes the Sun - George Benson In my Life - Ke'alii Reichel Fool on the Hill - Sarah Vaughn [Edited 6/28/06 10:57am] There is a great cover of "Because", on the American Beauty, soundtrack. The name of the person that did it escapes me at the moment. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

So I guess I'm no help there. Oh, and there's Siouxsie And The Banshees cover of "Dear Prudence". The Banshees cover them too much. They also did a remake of "Blue Jay Way" on the live 'Seven Year Itch' album.

Glad to see someone mentioned "Come Together" by Marcus Miller (though, wasn't that solo Lennon?)
My vote goes to Bela Fleck and the Flecktones' cover of "Michelle." Melodic bluegrass jazz with virtuosos improvising on their instruments of choice. It doesn't get any better than that.

It was on... ...Abbey Road. But at that point in the group's history, technically, you might have something. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."
