I wouldn't go that far...A lot of the production on that album lacked the soul of his previous two solo efforts...A little too plastic for my taste...but there were a few gems..."Liberian Girl," was my jam; "The Way You Make Me Feel," "Another Part Of Me," and "Man In The Mirror" were as well..."Bad" however was one of the worst singles MJ ever recorded...And while I didn't like "Smooth Criminal," (just thought it was a silly song) the video is among the best clips ever done...absolutely brilliant... Anyone who liked the orignal Bad album back in the day, would really love "Streetwalker" and "Fly Away." They are both awesome! When the special edition of Bad came out in 2001, I probably wore out "Streetwalker" that day alone. I loved it in 2001 and still love it in 2006!  [Edited 3/31/06 10:21am] | |

The Bad album was both an impressive and interesting effort because I didn't expect him to make a comeback like that after such an epic achievement like Thriller. I love Bad. I like it more than Thriller in parts.
People put down Bad, but it's pretty damn funky and I love it. Speed Demon, Another Part of Me and Smooth Criminal are also great. On the softer side of the album, Liberian Girl and Man In The Mirror are awesome. But clearly, the best song on the record is Dirty Diana. | |

There is not a bad song on Bad. Speed Demon definitly has some teeth to it. This is one album that flows very well from one track to the next. The production was second to none. Q and MJ worked together like a well oiled machine. | |

[Edited 3/31/06 21:13pm] I definitely agree with you, Murph. Bad was very calculated and it wasn't as pure or organic as Off The Wall and Thriller. Even though it seems like a big make-over of Thriller, I think Mike and Quincy ran out of some ideas while working on this one. Bad is still a classic, in my eyes though, but it's no where near as brilliant as Off The Wall, Thriller, or even Dangerous. Check me out and add me on:
