Ted Nugent

Any listen to Ted? Favorites of mine:

"Baby Please Don't Go", "You Talk Sunshine, I Breath Fire", "Free For All", "Cat Scratch Fever", "Stranglehold", Motor City Madhouse", "Wang Dang Sweet Poontang", "Just What the Doctor Ordered", "Yank Me, Crank Me"

Too many to list, actually. smile

Odd. Ted is from MICHIGAN. Not sure how that makes him a redneck.

Ted is a great guy, full of energy, and loves to gab.

Ted was doing the run around the stage with nothing on a long time before Prince did.

Ted will take your hide, eat your soul, and turn your appendages into jerkey faster than you can sing Wedding Feast.

Ted is the perfect anti-thesis to Prince, I'm suprised that the only people who have even slightly made a comparison are the writers on SNL.

Being a redneck has no bearing on where someone is from. It's about comportment.

My brother is a redneck to the fullest extent and he's from Michigan. So he's a redneck by both accounts - he just is and he's from Michigan. wink

I agree with ya, Dauphin, Ted is a great guy..and, well, I like his music...his older stuff particularly.

Who the heck doesnt say anything about MJ? And who says ONA rhetoric was embraced? It obvuiously isnt that bad since people stay with Prince..I would never support Nugent by attending his concerts or buying his records. Nor would I post on a site dedicasted to him, even if it was to slam him daily ( the shit that Irish Echoe and others of that ilk do). I already said Stranglehold was a saving grace so its not like Im being too close-minded. Fuck Nugent.

If Charleton Heston ever kicks the bucket, I'd say Ted Nugent would be the most logical replacement as Pres of the NRA...his politics are almost identical, from what I have read of/about him.

Screw Ted Nugent. If you want a truly effective anti-thesis to champion, why don'tcha show some love to The Cramps or, even better yet, g.g. allin? At least these folks ADMIT they're sick and ugly and wrong (or, in g.g.'s not-so-dearly departed case, admittED). Ted might lavish in his shock-rock values, but let's see him scream "I rode bare-assed on the top of the Sphinx" in a latex thong and high heels a la Lux Interior.

Hell, Iggy Pop has bigger balls than Ted Nugent. And Iggy even chopped his balls off a few times, just for kicks. And they grew back even bigger.

The Nuge is an adequately talented big-mouthed Republican rock star who was in a boring "supergroup" and makes childrens videos about how to kill deer. Whoop-de-doo. The Nuge vs. The Biz? I'll take The Biz anyday...NOW who got the vapors?

Rednecks aren't just a function of being from the south. You can find a redneck in the northeast. The term comes from the habit of white men who work in the hot sun shirtless, thus getting a sunburn across their neck, shoulders and face. Happens in the North as well as the South. Typically, you found them espousing politics that were anti-busing, anti-integration, anti-abortion, pro-milita and pro-gunownership and very hawkish on the war in Vietnam. Such types were stereotyped as semi-literate and blue-collar, hard-drinking and uncouth. Nugent indeed strikes this pose with his pro-gun attitudes. He certainly attracts a lot of redneck fans
