high,

yes Darren Hayes is a Prince fan, he once told so in an interview. he also likes U2 and Star Wars smile
My g/f is a huge Savage Garden fan and trust me I hear more of their songs sometimes than my own music. But savage Garden isn't that bad, there are some cool demos floating around and one is called Magical Kisses it sounds very much like a Prince demo...

His song 'I loved you before I met you' was written after he saw Prince talking about him & Mayte on Oprah. I've seen another interview with him and he is a massive Prince fan.

I wish he would stop ripping off Prince song titles though.
Perhaps he thinks this will get him noticed by our man. I think it's more likely just to piss him off!

Yes, Darren is a big Prince fan... he does not think that that will make P notice him, it's his way of paying tribute. During Savage Garden's first tour they often played both "One of Us" and "I can't make u love me". Darren's album "Spin" has several P references in music as well as in lyrics, but it also has Eurythmics references, another favourite of Darren's. So come off the negativity people, u might not like SG/Darren, but don't dump on everybody who happens to make music and like P at the same time wink Lotsa love,

Jen

So would this be a tribute to Joan Osborne and Bonnie Raitt or a tribute to Prince?

Edited for spelling because I momentarily thought that Joan had joined the Osbourne family. lol

Well...I'd never expected it...
He's a P fan...
But hey enough of the P titles...
The girls here in Singapore are like madly dying over "Insatiable"...Hayes' song obviously...
They oughta listen 2 P's "Insatiable" and "Strange Relationship"...

I've listened to about half of Spin, and I think he can craft some good pop tunes.

But that voice. It sounds like he's trying too hard to impersonate MJ.
