Joe Jackson

I'm trying this again...

I was trying to remember a song of his a couple of days ago...and I did, with a little help...then I found some more. Does anyone like Joe?

"Steppin' Out", "Breaking Us In Two", "Is She Really Going Out With Him"...

You decided to forgo Michael and talk about Joe. lol

How about "Right and Wrong"? I don't really like Is She Really Going Out With Him, but the other two songs are cool.

I remember the cool "it's different for the girls", "cha cha loco", & the beautiful "real men", his music is a pretentious now, he has disavowed his pop hits.

Joe Jackson is good. I like his music . His albums Beat Crazy, Look Sharp and I'm not sure but is it Night Music another one of his albums? He's very good live and puts on a good show.

Sorry Finess but Big World isn't a live album, but you're right, the live double-CD he released a few years back is fab!

What a talent!! Slow Song, It's different for girls, Real Men, I'm the man, We can't live together...

I saw his Laughter & Lust gig in Paris in 1991 and it was great - a great moment!

Big World was actually recorded in front of a live audience. They just were not allowed to make any noise until a couple of seconds had passed after each song. So it is in fact a live album, just without the applause.

I waited on this guy in 1987 in Philadelphia and he was, without question, the biggest, most pompous DICK I ever had the misfortune of meeting. I had waited on other celebrities before (Robert Duval, Dizzie Gallespie, Malcolm Jamal Warner and others) and realize that sometimes they simply want to be left alone, but this guy was just RUDE.

I brought him the customary glass of ice water and he scoffed and said "Can I have a glass of WATER, rather than a glass of ICE, please? What the fuck? I elected not to point out that, technically, it WAS water.

Later, as he sat alone, waiting for his food, another server who was a big fan and had been to his show the previous night VERY POLITELY and courteously asked him, if he had a moment, would he please sign an autograph for her. He made very a condescending and insulting "tfff" sound (like a half laugh or a scoff) and that was it!

To top it off, the cheap bastard left me 13% tip. Never liked his music anyway, and naturally, don't like the man.

Fuck him.

Well, I don't know the man personally, but I do enjoy most of his music. I would suggest everyone to check out his 2 CD greatest hits album for a fantastic overall look at his output. I'm also reading his autobiography right now about his childhood and getting started in the music biz. It's a fascinating read.
