Not to be too technical, but an album selling over 10 million doesn't automatically give it a diamond certification. The record company has to submit the album for certification and pay the fee. Motown was notorious for not certifying their artists.

Stevie Wonder (for "Songs in the Key of Life")
Michael Jackson (for "Thriller" -- which went DOUBLE DIAMOND *damm*)
TLC (for "CrazySexyCool")

A lot of those TRL acts were SELLING some serious records in 2000.
