Kanye West is highly overrated in his own mind...

This guy thinks he invented rap or something.. He's a cool producer but why does he think he deserves all these Grammys?

1. He redoes a Chaka Khan song, speeds it up and sings about Geico. Wow brilliant.

2. He redoes a Ray Charles song for 4 measures, adds Jamie Foxx for more publicity, and loops those 4 measures for 4 minutes

3. He redoes "Diamonds" which he thinks is so original, but didn't the Chemical Bros or some other techno group use a similar sample with Shirley Basssey on "History Repeating Itself" about 5 years ago?

4. "Jesus walks" bored the crap out of me and was overproduced.

5. He acts like hes God's gift, he should wise up cause the backlash is coming, just ask any "hot producer" or rap star from the last 20 years... Kanye is on his way to MC Hammer bankruptcy and backlash...

lol I agree. I like his music, but it's nothing life-changing, ground-breaking, or earth-shattering like he makes it out to be. It's just simple, mainstream,"poppy" rap music.

He is no funny.

But I find The College...mostly brilliant. Not fan of "Jesus Walk", however.

Why do people make such a big deal about Kanye being arrogant?

It's a crime against humanity to sample Curtis Mayfield and talk/rap over it.

I've heard the album and it's average at best but sometimes big head people grow into their head. Maybe on the next album?

He's very arrogant, but that still doesn't change the fact that he's a fantastic hip hop artist.

"History Repeating" was Shirley Bassey and the propeller heads.

I agree,he is arrogant, but I just lay back and try not to hate on him and just enjoy what positivity he had so show. He is over exposed as some preacher, and I think it's stupid of him to compare himself with Jesus, but I guess sampling is his gift to the younger audience?

oh I fogot to mention the Marching Band performance...

Kanye might have beeen fooling the kids into thinking this was an original idea, but a little band called Fleetwood Mac beat him to it in the 70's and a little man with a jeans jacket had a marching band onstage in the 80's...

I have to agree but it seems like a lot of people bought into it...It's a monster. Then again, there are so few producer rappers out there, you got to give him some credit....I prefer Timbaland though...Those beats still work.

I have not only met kanye...I had the displeasure of working in a studio with him in 2002... I never in my life met a more arrogant dude...Its stupid !!! somehow i truly believe he knows he's over the top and full of shit...Its like the old saying "u are what u eat" I think he is pumping himself up in hopes that one day he will be as great as he talks about being.

b/c it's annoying as FUCK!!! evillol

He turned me way off w/ his speech last year @ whatever award show that was where he made an absolute fool of himself being so fucking arrogant w/ his speech. He'll never get over himself. He could fall out the game for years & still talk shit about how he WAS the greatest. Get used to it, the dude's ego is bigger than Lexington Steele's dick... & that's HUGE exclaim
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart
