Looking For Vintage 70s TV Music Shows

Like Soul Train, Midnight Special, Don Kershner, etc. I have particularly interested in the Soul Train vids that were offered by "angelricky" a few years back. I have been trying to track these down forever! It appears that the original site is no longer functioning and I cannot contact angelricky to obtain the videos. Do any of you happen to have any contact info from angekricky besides the old web site or email address (no response from there). If not, do any of you currently have the complete 10 volumes of angelricky's Soul Train vids? If so, I would like to purchase copies from you. I'd just need to know in advance if they're on DVD or VHS. My email is tlbabin2@yahoo.com

Apparently,Angel now sells the Soul Train videos directly on Ebay. There are 10 videos available (spanning the years 1971-76) and the total price is $140 which includes shipping and handling...

If you have trouble ordering on Ebay, just send an email to anglericky@aol.com,or send a letter directly to Angel's mailing address:

Angel R.Hermon
P.O. Box 14076
Newport News,VA.
23608

Good luck!

by the way,it seems like these types of threads pop up quite frequently. Here's an older thread where we were discussing footage of artists/bands from the 70s...

I heard that there is a now a 14-DVD set (!) containing old epidodes of "Soul Train",it's being sold somewhere on Ebay.I'm not sure if it is the exact same footage from Angel's tapes, but it might be worth hunting down.

If anyone here has any info about it,please let me know!

Hi David, I've compared the contents of the 14 volume set & the contents from Ricky Angel's tapes & they are not the same. If Angel Ricky's is using footage from the Japanese broadcast, they're basically using the same footage but in different ways. The DVDs have at least two complete shows.Maybe the tapes just show the music footage? I don't know since I don't own any of Angel Ricky's stuff.

Wassup Phil! Angels' tapes are somewhat frustating because they don't include the entire episodes. They mainly focus on just the musical performances, which is fine I guess, but it would be so much better to have the complete episodes.Several tapes do include the line dancing segment.
