Classic album: Aretha (1986)

This CD has been out-of-print for years, but you can always find it on Ebay. The album is not one of her most talked about, but i like it. The singles were "Jimmy Lee", "Jumpin` Jack Flash" and the George Michael duet "I knew you were waiting (for me)"
My favorite is still "If you need my love tonight", a duet with Larry Graham. Does anyone else know this album, and what do you think of it?

My mother bought me this album on cassette, for Christmas 1986. I mean it wasn't my only present - it was one of them. I'm not sure why she bought it me as I'd never really said I'd wanted it, but it was a great little album.

I liked Rock-A-Lott a lot. Cheesey jump-up-and-down on your bed stuff.

I remember thinking that the production on most of the songs sounded dated even then. Jumping Jack Flash was wild though.

love "I Knew You Were Waiting For Me", as cheesy as it is. Don't know anything else from the CD.

"Jimmie Lee" is a decent single, but I wasn't too crazy about this album. Her previous album,'Who's Zoomin Who'(1985),is much better.

It`s a VERY good song, very 60s dancing jig
I don`t like the Who`s zoomin` who? album that much (although it`s probably more acclaimed),
however, i do think that the title song is amazing woot!

I guess the whole album is very different from the "Aretha" album. I don`t like the style of "another night" and "freeway of love", but i know many people like those songs headbang
