Incredible song. Gotta be the long version though - the single version.

That was my Dads favourite song, he died 5 years ago and i dont think Ive been able to listen to it without howling since! Its quite an emotional song!

It was just COMMODORES (their fifth album), but we (old skoolers, that is) called it the "ZOOM album" cuz that was the baddest jam at a Commodores concert. Sure enough, after their live set was released



they retitled it ZOOM. Go check the catalog.

As for "Brick House"....if you're referring to the 12" version,it is not included here.

lol...Actually, Milan Wiliams, Ronald LaPread, and Thomas McClary are into doing the reunion. They wanted to do it back in 1990 when Lionel gave the OK (and was getting along with Walter and William). Lionel said he had one more solo joint to give to Motown (or whatever label he was on then) and he was going to do it after.....Never happened.Ronald LaPread said they waited and waited on Lionel and he never responded back.

VH-1's "Bands Reunited" (2005) did speak with all of them and they all said yes. When the band reunited at the studio, Lionel, Walter, and William never showed up. Supposedly when Lionel did the Motown anniversary show earlier this year, Lionel and the "remaining Commodores" peformed on the bill and Lionel said he "supposedly" patched things up, but during the encore he pretty much distanced himself away from them and there was no eye contact with them. So who knows?

At this point,I don't think a reunion is gonna happen.Last year in a Jet magazine article,Lionel mentioned a reuion,saying that it's in the "planning stages".But they've been planning this thing for what...ten years now?


Unfortunately,Lionel seems content with his schmaltzy Europop crap.If he were to reunite with the Commodores,he would have to get funky again and I don't think he's interested in doing that.Btw,if they did reunite,I hope they don't throw Lionel's replacement (J.D. Nicholas) out of the band.He's been a loyal member for 20 years now.
