I recently got "Songs in the key of Life" and can't yet get into it.
The only song I immediately liked was "Have a talk with God".

So, "The Ghost of Tom Joad" is good? I imagine it to be to Bruce
what "The Truth" was to Prince. am I right?

WHAT THE ....??? Are you fracking kidding me? You cannot be serious! Mods, someone hacked IstenSzek's account. Or holds a gun to his head.

I'm serious. To be fair though, I have gotten a lot of new music
recently. My brother keeps giving me cdr's and I've got hold of
about 50 new (classic) albums the last two months so it's a lot
to digest.

I gave SongsInTheKeyOfLife two listens till now and perhaps I'll
be better off just keeping it on rotation for a day or so to see
what kind of effect it will have on me.

Don't get me wrong, I like what I hear, it just didn't surprise
me or anything. People always talk about that album like it's a
sort of SignOTheTimes, and perhaps it is but I just didn't hear
it yet. Although "Have a talk With God" is worthy of a place in
my Top 50 tunes ever. Very cool tune.

I've found that it didn't grab me the first couple of times, but then I just sat down one afternoon- nothing to do- and played both sides while reading the lyrics and I was blown away!!!
"Joy Inside My Tears" and "If It's Magic" still reduce me to a quivvering wreck, so I think you have to let it creep up on you- but you WILL be seduced...

I don't know why I haven't picked up Outkast's Aquemini yet. I know that it was their most innnovative record and it was the album that brought them into the mainstream, but I haven't got around to picking it up. I have Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, Atliens, Stankonia, and Speakerboxxx/TLB. I'll probably pick a copy up from Amazon.

I never can get around listening to Maxwell's Now. I only listened to 4 tracks off of the joint and it really lacks the experimentation and beauty of Embrya and I'm gonna have to listen to Now a little bit harder...
