why the fuck does she ALWAYS favor Europe over the U.S.?

Listen honey, Europe didnt give a FUCK about you when you were a struggling nobody. If you'd never made it big in the U.S. first (where you're FROM) you wouldn't have the life you have. And titling your album "American Life" and then bitching about being called 'un-American' with your phony british accent and your English country manor lifestyle spread in Vogue...

damn that annoys me. anyway, sorry. i am excited for the new record but damn that bitch can get on my last nerve. maybe she's worried her only fans are all over there now.

Settle.

LOL.

She's in London right now and the kids are in school. She'll spend most of October and the first week of Novemeber in Europe.

Than she'll jet over to the states and probably stay here until she kicks off her world tour next summer.

I don't think she likes one country more than the other. Guy didn't want to live in the States and Madonna didn't want Guy to feel like he was unequal partner in the marraige so since her carear was all ready established and she can do most of her work from anywhere she moved. She still spends at least 3 months out of the year in NY and a couple in LA.

she knows she can't afford to lose the US that's why this is just going to be a fun album. it just makes more sense for her to start in the UK and Europe since that's where she is right now.

don't forget that the promo for Music and American Life started in the US.

There is so much going on about this new album and the copyright issues...I wouldn't be surprised if the cover and title and track list is all a big hoax and she'll switch it at the 11th hour.

Highly unlikly, but many details have come out from this I wasn't expecting. Then again, hanging out here is almost akin to doing so on her site. biggrin

OK Honest opinions here....

I like how the new song is shaping up. It's very catchy. But what does everyone think of the Abba riff...in terms of not the riff itself, but that Madonna had to (and am using this very lightly) "resort" to sampling a very famous song (cleverly I might add) as the main hook for her new single. I am hoping this is not signalling that she needs to resort to sampling tactics that all of the other "followers" do to get a hit single..which is ripping a main riff of a song and creating an entire song wrapped around the sample.

everything that is being handed out in promo form has been watermarked so it can be traced to who leaked it. than person will either be sued or fired.

That all of the existing cd's right now are so copy protected that they can tell who leaked any music from it...if it ends up getting leaked. Not only that but during the press conference they had issuse even playing it because of the copy protection.

lol I'm ok with her touring whereever she wants really. I don't have 500.00 to go see her anyhow. which is what it's going to cost if you want to see her anyway. I'd rather save my money and get the DVD.

not the first time she has sampled. check out the linear notes for Bedtime Stories and Ray of Light.

second Gimme Gimme Gimme is really only know by people in Europe, Gays the world over, and people 30+ in America. Most kids here in the states have no clue to who or what Abba was.

I think the first time she credited a sample was for Erotica when she used Kool & The Gang's Jungle Boogie.

You are correct.

actully thinking about it, the first time was the Beast Within Remix of Justify My Love with the use of El Ohim... i think is how it's spelt. which was again used in Erotica.

Notice my carefully worded sentence; I said "credited" so I wouldn't be wrong lol I'm a big fan of liner notes, and I hadn't seen a sample credit on a Madonna album/single before then. And I think it was right around the time of Erotica that artists finally started getting writing credit when their work was sampled.

Oh and I didn't say she didn't sample before...Justify My Love and some other songs she sampled..sure. But I think this is the forst time she is go9ing with the trend of taking a MAJOR MAIN HOOK from a song and using it as the basis of the song. And the hook is VERY blatent.

it's just the flute part... i think it's more along the lines of the style of sampling Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis did for You Want This with the sumpremes sample. which was a song i had never heard before until than. i thought that part i'm thinking of was just their creation. as most kids will probably think the flute is a madonna idea.

Confessions might. if it's all dance the teenage girls will run out and buy it.

Gay men and teen girls have the same taste in music.

hhhhhmmmmm quite possibly.

I think her first actual sample wasn't just on the remix of Justify My Love, but the original version of that song sampled the drum beat of Public Enemy's Security of the First World. I remember PE making a big stink about her sampling it. Never made sense to me given that they sampled left and right! lol If that's not her first sample, somebody please correct me.

hmmm Not this gay man. Though it would really make my day if every teenaged-girl ran out to buy a copy of Supertramp's Breakfast in America and The Isley Brothers' The Heat is On.
