Paul Mooney on Diana Ross Paul Mooney is taking some heat from getting on Diana Ross for drunk driving at the BET Comedy Awards. He doesnt deserve to be the villian - he didnt drive drunk, she did! For Traci Ross, if you know you mother drives drunk and people know about it, get ready to be embarrassed about it and take it like a man. That is show business and fame. It aint all champange, cherries and ass kissings. Diana Ross has been fucked up for years and someone called her on it. Negroes - those that produce those dumb ass BET shows - should get over it and themselves.

It wasn't just Diana he made fun. He told jokes about Tracie's stepdad who died I think while mountain climbing. All this was edited out of the televised version. Supposedly, Traci was so upset she left the auditorium for a bit. She returned later and that's when Steve Harvey apologized for having to go through that. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

I heard about this on Howard Stern this morning, but I didn't know all that happened--about Tracie's stepdad and her leaving.

I love Paul Mooney, and I heard him say some pretty f-up'd things but what he did the other night was uncalled for. It was a personal attack, though I'm not sure if the actual target was Diana or her daughter Traci, either way it was wrong of him to what he did, the way he did it.
I agree with Steve Harvey. It would've been the Source Awards for real up in that place, if he'd have dogged my momma like that!

it was the "comedy" awards right? I mean we can't make comedy politically correct or it wouldn't be comedy anymore. but....I only heard the clip on the howard stern show...I didn't see it for my own eyes. "not a fan"

If he'd have just left it at that, fine. He didn't. He dissed Traci Ross' recently deceased stepfather also! That was not cool, at all. Somebody should give Paul Mooney a Ni*** Wake Up Call. Hey, Wake Up, Ni***, that angry, bitter, Ni*** routine is played! Time for a new routine!

I loved his Chappelle Show appearances.

He can be funny but he can be rather cutting too. I wondered if it was personal because Ross got arrested in 2002 while his other jokes were topical. Then why drag the death of her ex into the jokes? I don't think he's ever like her anyway. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Well let's see, the "Chappelle Show" is dead in the water and with the flack BET is getting from his "performance", his future there is pretty much belly up too. So, if he still wants an audience, it's time. If he doesn't, well, c'est la vie.

His career will not die from that poor excuse for black relevance called BET.

From my own reports it was beyond comedy. It was flat hateful and mean.
Granted u mess up....okay u deserve to get catch a lil hell... What Paul said was down right foul...and evil...and horrible.. I pray nothin bad ever happens to his family.... June 19's Pop Culture Commentary - Beyonce'

Didn't watch the show (enough with these lame award shows already) but I love Paul Mooney. But even the best can go too far. Not the first time it happened, won't be the last.
Negrodamus predicts he'll get lucky and be banned from BET forever.
