Sigur Ros Sets New Album Track List

Icelandic rock act Sigur Ros has set a Sept. 12 internationally release for its new EMI album, "Takk," which is Icelandic for "Thanks." The 11-cut release will be issued the following day by Geffen in North America. The album is sung mostly in Sigur Ros' native tongue; frontman Jonsi Thor Birgisson has previously sung in his own language, "Hopelandish."

Several of the new tracks have already been performed live on a just-underway international tour, which arrives tomorrow (July 12) in Paris. A North American outing kicks off Sept. 6 in Atlanta, with one-off shows scheduled for Aug. 9 in Honolulu and Aug. 11 in Los Angeles and .

"Takk" is the follow-up to 2002's "( )," which debuted at No. 51 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 227,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.

They are playing at The State Theater in MPLS which is a GORGEOUS venue. I saw them there a few years back for the () tour. It was a hell of a show. I left feeling like i had been drugged- in a good way.

I also got them at Glastonbury. One of my favorite music moments ever. It was dusk, it rained lightly thru there whole set and all was good in the world...

I saw Sigur Ros last wednesday in Paradiso!! They really blew my mind. They played lots of new songs! And let me tell you these songs sounded really really good!! At a moment in the concert the bassist was playing the bas with some drumsticks!! it was one of the best concerts i ever saw, and i saw a lot of concerts!!

But I like what I heard so far!

I just got an advanced copy of the album.. Very beautiful.. its got the same atmospheric sadness as their previous two.. but it might be a tad bit more structured than their prior work.. interesting release.

Sigur Ros new album is very simular to Mums first release "Finally We Are No One"... lots of noises, melodies and his vocals resemble that album.. VERY closely..
