A-ha Sell out New York concert in 50 minutes

"TOURING HIGH AND LOW 2005" that is the title of A-ha's upcoming European Tour which will include one intimate USA show at Irving Plaza in New York City. The tickets on sale at 12 this Wednesday sold out before 1. A-ha's new USA managers are very pleased with this especially with a New Album due in Early September throughout Europe and still unconfirmed if it will be released in the USA at the same time, but with this sell out concert it might be. (Got My tickets!!!)

Well as usual the typical "joke" when any artist that actually Sells outside of America is concerned. Well I guess 30 million albums sold worldwide is a joke too....Also the fact that A-ha will be playing 49 shows on their European tour in many countries all of which have sold out and are places that hold anywhere from 2,000-50,000. You see their is a world outside of the USA (honestly thank god, cause honestly the USA produces the shittiest music). Also dont be surprised if "take on me" is not on the setlist, because it may not be, they have been known not to do it, Im sure since its the USA they will, but they occasionaly drop it off the setlist, but when they do it, its only during the Encore in the Set.

Well I doubt the USA show sold out because of LIVE8, since MTV,VH1 didnt air their performance, which honestly next to Duran Duran was the best of the day. But as far as the European shows, A-ha sold these dates long before LIVE8 was spoken of. I dont think anyone can give a fair asessment of A-ha as a band until they have hear all the Albums, not just the first or even the 80's stuff. First of all the 80's stuff is really a different band, A-ha since 1990 have been a totally different "sound", basically take COLDPLAY and Add in KEANE and Snow Patrol and you have A-HA, except A-ha started the sound 15 years ago, but maybe the USA can finally catch up. And trust me I am not the only one that talks of them, U2 have sited them as the most UNDERSTOOD band in the last 20 years, RADIOHEAD have said A-ha is what "we aspire to be and sound like" also BONO of U2 said 2000's "Minor Earth Major SKy" album of A-ha was the years best. And last but not least Chris Martin of Coldplay, clearly calls them Perfect. So until all their cds are reissued in the USA i dont think people will truly understand A-ha, or be able to Judge.
