That's great news. I always like Paul's voice (of course no one can take Freddie place.) But this could be very interesting, hope they bring the tour to the u.s.

The 'group' played at the UK Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame opening ceremony last month, We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions and All Right Now.

I have my own opinion on this, but I wanna see what others think...

Yep, I think so too. The remaining members of Queen are great musicians, but without Freddy, there is no Queen!

I've always liked Paul Rodgers as a rock vocalist.
But I don't see how his vocal style fits with classic Queen material.
Time will tell.

Maybe they'll just create a new band and call it something else.

Good one.
They should go ahead and add Jimmy Page for good measure.
He's always good for a drool or two lately.
(minnieG is gonna kill me.)

Same here.I think a singer who'll try and steal the show is just not-done.
I think Paul will take his place with some sort of 'grace' in honour of the late Freddie...
Yes,it will be different, but I always liked a different vocal interpetation in a song you know well.It brings some new life in a song,sometimes..
NOBODY tops Freddie, but Paul Rodgers knows that.Let's give him a shot!

Now you are talkin. I used to like alot of their stuff. I especially liked these cuts by them: All The Kings Horses, I'm Radioative, and Satisfaction Guaranteed.

When I heard about Paul taking on the lead of Queen, I was dumbfounded. Like most of you have said, he voice is not suited for the caliber of music the Queen performs. Paul has a more strong alto voice which is more suited for straight rock or blues
.

I knew this was coming. May and Taylor have been popping up all over the place of late doing Queen stuff. Rogers is a great singer. I think they should write their own stuff then tour, under a new name, throwing in some Queen and free/Bad Company stuff as well,THAT would be cool. Freddie Mercury was the focal point of Queen, in a really unique way. I really would not want to see these guys touring and calling themselves Queen, cause I think Queen died with Freddie. I can understand that May and Taylor played huge roles in Queens success and may feel that they have the right to do as they wish as far as the group is concerned, but to me it just does not seem right.

I could not agree more.
I mean I consider myself a true and educated fan of Queen and this whole thing feels "wrong".
Side note: Does anyone else dig "Hot Space"? I know this may be blasphemous to some but it's one of my faves. The funk element. cool

I have been listening to Hot Space of late, and I think it is ok. I like it a LOT more than 'The Works'. I bought the new Queen live album the other day, 'Queen on fire, live at the bowl', and I have to say that the hot Space songs do not sound as good live as on the record.
Do you know thw song, 'Hero', from the Flash Gordon album? It rocks and sounds AWESOME live!

Like I said, I know I am in the minority when I express my love for Hot Space but I just dig it. It's like their "Funk" album. It doesn't "rock" in the rock and roll sense but I think it's well executed in it's own right.
Yes Nikhendrix, "Hero" rocks! Almost worth the price of admission.(Flash Gordon Soundtrack)
