Anyone playing their Christmas music yet?

I made a lil cd of my favorite Christmas songs that aren't carols. Fits on a 74 min CD-R.

Wham! "Last Christmas"
Band Aid "Do They Know It's Christmas?"
Paul McCartney "Wonderful Christmastime"
The Waitresses "Christmas Wrapping"
Kurtis Blow "Christmas Rappin'"
Run-D.M.C. "Christmas In Hollis"
Eurythmics "Winter Wonderland"
Donny Hathaway "This Christmas"
Milly And Silly "Getting Down At Xmas"
Mariah Carey "All I Want For Christmas Is You (So So Def Remix)"
The Smashing Pumpkins "Christmastime"
Destiny's Child "This Christmas"
Stevie Wonder "What Christmas Means To Me"
The Temptations "Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer"
The Supremes "My Favorite Things"
Boney M. "Mary's Boy Child (Oh My Lord)"
TLC "Sleigh Ride"
Usher "This Christmas"
Dean Martin "Let It Snow"

Where's "Homo Christmas" by Pansy Division? Can't let the holiday season pass by without playing that one.

I'm just waiting for the day after Thanksgiving to pull out my Christmas jams while I decorate the tree.

Some of my favorites are:

This Christmas - Donny Hathaway
That's What Christmas Means To Me - Stevie Wonder
Gee Whiz, It's Christmas - Carla Thomas
Jingle Bells - Booker T and the MGs
What Do The Lonely Do At Christmas - The Emotions
Christmas Time Is Here - Grover Washington, Jr.
Another Lonely Christmas - Prince
Christmas Rappin' - Kurtis Blow
Silent Night - The Temptations
Dear Santa - The Weather Girls
Santa Baby - Eartha Kitt
Santa Claus Is Coming To Town - The Jackson 5

I've got lots more but I'd have to pull them out to refresh my memory. biggrin

There are two Christmas songs that I don't have that I am still looking for:

Santa Claus Is A Black Man - (Don't know the artist)
Jingle Bells - (Don't know the artist but it is dogs barking out the song)

My tracklist went very well... I included one bonus track at the end

"You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch"

hmmm then I thought about it later and removed it.

I'm serious about this. If anyone wants to hear a truly beautiful and addictive Christmas album, check out George Winston's "December". You'll return to it every year. His "Linus & Lucy" album is also strangely fitting during the holidays.

I picked up this dodgy looking collection just this year:

I knew I was supposed to have "Santa Claus Go Straight to the Ghetto". Man, that collection turned to be alright... and had a varied selection of Christmas songs 1966-1970

It's amazing how many good albums he's got out where the cover is just dreadful. confused

The only Christmas song I've played lately is Prince's "Another Lonely Christmas" because I've been digging into a lot of the Purple Rain stuff lately.

I hosted a Christmas show on the radio a couple years ago full of punk rock Christmas tunes -- there's a lot of good ones! All the other Christmas stuff kinda bums me out, so the more upbeat the music the merrier I be!

Especially "River" -- wow, that's a powerful song -- even speaks of Christmas. Hard to hear that without shedding a tear by the end. Beautiful.

edit: oops, i shared too much
