although I never actually despised them, with both Homogenic and Vespertine (by Bjork) I was incredibally indifferent to them for at least 6 months each after their release. Now Homogenic is my fave Bjork and in my top 10 all time albums. Go Figure...

"This is A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Talk About" by Modest Mouse.
The day I bought it, I totally hated it & put it away in a desk drawer. Several weeks later I decided to give it another try & now I think it's excellent. Real Alternative music. I can't say anything for their newest release ("Bad News…") since I haven't heard much of it, but I disliked the song they had from it on MTV. I tried to give it a listen at Borders, but I didn't like the horns, or anything else about the first couple tracks. But then I hated the other one at first, so maybe the new one will grow on me too. That is if I ever convince myself to buy it…anyone have it?

Introducing the Hardline According To Terence Trent D'arby. Thank god I gave that one a second chance because now TTD is one of my favorite artists ever.

Musicology, Slaughterhouse and Chocolate Invasion.....perhaps it had to do with the production value or something but once I got used to that, after about 4 months, I got into these records and think they are great now. Although I don't think he will ever produce another masterpiece, they are not bad for his age. He's still in the game. But if Usher is in the game as well, I'll take Prince easily.

Hard listens at first.. I bought these soon as they came out so maybe my age had something to do with it.. but I was looking for obvious hooks.

Nas Illmatic: I was 13 and looking for more hooks or pop elements. NOW OF COURSE IT IS ONE OF MY VERY FAVORITES!
Portishead Portishead: I loved Dummy but found this one harder to listen to... can't remember why. NOW LOVE IT!
D'Angelo Voodoo: Just way different than his first one. NOW LOVE IT!

Prince Graffiti Bridge: Wait I still hate this one.
