just watching snl...strictly for the jude law factor...and ashlee simpson comes on to perform. well, clearly her record was not cued up properly or it skipped or something and she was busted for lip syncing...the band wasn't even playing its instruments. they all looked at each other in embarrassment and ashlee actually walked off stage! not a good way to handle it, lol. anyway, snl cut to commercial and that was the end of it. how terribly embarrassing...

Her mic wasn't even anywhere near her mouth when it started, she had it hanging down near her waist. the vocal started, and it was only half as loud as it should have been, the band was drowning it out, it was also the same song they played earlier that night. the sound guy fades the vocal out (not well either, you could still hear it faintly, in the background) ... ashlee starts dancing and jumping around the stage, and then runs off it, very, very pissed off. the band keeps playing for another minute or so, and then they go to a commercial.

at the end of the show, the whole cast comes out on stage, like always, and ashlee's there, looking as if she'd been crying her eyes out, and says "i'm sorry! my band started playing the wrong song, so i thought i'd just do a little dance...."
