Damn, what happened to the days when singers/musicians used to focus on making music? It's no wonder why music sucks so bad now. Everybody feels like they have to sing, act, make clothes, have their own resteraunts and shit. It's ridiculous and I wish it would just stop.

I've taken notice of this too. It seems like so many folks feel like they have to immerse themselves in every field in order to become a "brand". It's such an ego driven money hungry attitude. Artists want us to wear their name on our rear ends, and smell like them, where our hair like them, but it doesn't end there. Nelly and Lil' John have frickin' energy drinks. These are two of the most repetitive cats in the bizz and they want us to drink Red Bull with their names slapped on it. Thanks, guys. confused

I have a feeling "artists" do these things because they don't make that much money with their "music" in comparison to how much they bring in for the record companies and everyone involved in the music industry. So they try these other business oportunities to make their own money that the record company cannot touch. That's just a guess. I don't know how this stuff works.

I probably won't buy anything but this should be interesting to see. I just want to see where Beyonce is going to take it with her line.

Yeah im sad. Beyonce is talented she shouldn't have to market herself like this. I wanna see that girl in the studio making music.

All these trends amongst Hilary Duff, Celine, j-lo make me sick with their lines of bullshit. Just sing and leave it at that.

That shit is sooooo tacky.

Yeah, it is tacky, but Beyonce's body is banging! Personally, I could give a shit about the girl's clothes and her singing. I just want her body, that's all.

For some reason -- and the pictures aren't helping -- I read this thread and IMMEDIATELY thought of Robert Downey Sr.'s old film, Putney Swope.

Sometimes, I think Beyonce is an outtake from Putney Swope. I swear!!

heyyy pimp juice is tasty! it aint nothin but some i think its green (?) kool aid...but its still tasty!

that makes sense...its common knwoledge that singers don't make nearly as much as the label does.

as for her clothing line...hmmm all i can say is b different! u'd expect all these folks who grew up hard to have their clothes affordable...but nooooo one pair of jeans is like 50$..please i can go to k mart...by some 14$ jeans and then go home and sprinkle some clorox on it ma self! u feel me? and don't let it be nothin like what cha wore to the vma's!
Yesterday is dead...tomorrow hasnt arrived yet....i have just ONE day...
...And i'm gonna be groovy in it!

Remember that one off guy from N*Sync had a clothing line for hunters or something...it was god awful ugly and i remember the host saying, "ahh that's nice.." be4 trying to move 2 another subject, but he kept on. I think it was Chris K. it was ugly.

Im tired of all this "i got my own clothes.." the whole maarket thing.

When Puffy did it (yeah PUFFY) it was coo. When LL did it, it was real coo.

Now J.Lo, Pamela, Nas (im glad he stopped), Niki Hilton AND Paris Hilton, now Beyonce...woah...what's next Britney?

UGH! Over fuckin Exposure!!!
