And as for my own misheard lyrics, I'm sure that there are plenty which have not been corrected yet. I'm still amazed at concerts when I realize how many lyrics I just flat out don't know, or that I sing as giberish since I don't know the real words. It's kinda hard to learn all the lyrics when you discover Prince's career around 1995 and have to learn the previous 15 years or so AND keep up with all the new stuff he comes out with. | |

My daughter was listening to "Graffiti Bridge". I thought it was a kids' tape, there's a toy piano sound plinking away, and I thought it was really cute and catchy. The melody line. My daughter was about 10 at the time...then I found out it was Prince!...She was singing "Thieves in the Temple": "Voices from the sky say RELY ON YOUR BEDSPREAD TO PULL YOU THOUGH".

Instead of 'Just say the word and we can START FROM number one' I thought it was ... 'Just say the word and we can STOP FOR number one' ... TOTALLY different connotation. I was very embarrassed about this until I read a review in a music magazine which thought exactly the same
