Prince kidnapping Sinead O'Connor

What was the deal with this. I remember years ago, Sinead O'Connor claimed prince wouldn't let her go, he kept her hostage at Paisley Park for a few days or something. What are the details of this story, I can't really remember. It's funny, I didn't read about this in Posessed and I really would have thought this story would have fit Possessed tabloid style(i don't meen this as an insult, I actually liked Possessd)

Yeah I remember this too...it was at a time when Prince was really stupid and wouldnt talk to people (90s) so everything you read madce you think "wel...maybe it is true,he is a sandwich short of a picnic".

I saw this claim printed in a Sunday paper along with the following 'stories':

Prince only eats macaroni cheese on tour

He once asked for a hotel to run him a bath full of lemon juice and honey (ouch...maybe he had a cold biggrin )

He never buys cds and if he wants new music in his car he just makes his own (but Im sure Ive heard HIM actually say that too)

He makes his girlfriends walk 4 paces behind him in public

I also remember the funniest article around the time of the name change (Act1/Act2 Tour). I think that this highly reputable Sunday Paper had lost the plot, got confused by the whole situation and started dabbling in fantasy...

It claimed that the prince symbol was a blend of male and female (yes it is...can anyone guess where this is going confused ) and that Prince had made himself part male and part female so as to eliminate the need for a sexual partner (I can do that too on a lonely night jerkoff)

Never mind teh fact he was doing the dirty with Mayte at the time....is that possible, did he have to bend it round and pop it in, was it detachable...I need the details and pictures if it was to be believed lol

As I remember the story went something like he invited her aver and then started yelling at her over "Nothing Compares 2 U". I think he was pissed about her not singing the National Anthem on SNL although it was probably over "Nothing Compares 2 U"(IMO). He then sent her limo away and made her walk home at like 5 in the morning. I think he threatened to beat her up, too.
when the melting pot stirs how we gonna take it?
when u can't tell him from her how u gonna fake it?

In my memory, it happened in LA. I always wondered why more was never said about this. Kidnapping and abuse are serious charges.

Ive posted about this before, but Sinead was interviewed on TV in England a few months ago, and reading between the lines, I got the impression that it wasn't as intense a scenario as was made out by the press. Hey, it made good press coverage, so who'd deny it? Besides, she stated that it was 'all good', that they 'still talked occasionally' and that he was a wasn't as wierd as people made him out 2 be but was quite a 'down to earth, nice guy'.

*The interviwer visably scoffed at this point!* lol

I have the '90 ROLLING STONE article about sinead o'conner claiming that prince kept her at his house for a few hours and played mind games with her and made her cry. The article ended with a comment from Prince saying that he had no idea what she was talking about. This was before the pope picture tearing, and was when Sinead was much loved by the public.

I heard something similar but it wasn't no bee eating.

I heard that he used to come to the graveyards late at night to communicate with the dead and at some point it fucked him up so much that he vowed not to try it again ever.

I have that old issue of Rolling Stone from 1991 where they reported on this bizarre story.I don't know if this incident really happened or if it was just a silly publicity stunt carried out by the both of them, but Sinead seemed pretty pissed off about the whole thing. She claimed that Prince invited her to Paisley Park in late 1990.According to her,he began bitching at her, saying "You know, you really should start wearing dresses and stop cussing so much".He was offended at her recent behavior."He continually said that he was gonna beat the shit out of me" she says. To make matters worse,Prince sent his limo driver away, leaving O'Connor with no way to get home at 5 O'clock in the morning."He was laughing at the fact that I was crying, saying that my big mouth had gotten me into trouble again" O'Connor said. But she thinks she knows the real reason for his un-princely behavior."His problem is,I did a song of his ("Nothing Compares 2 U") without him being involved. He's jealous. And he did say to me that he wishes I had never done his song.I think that, frankly, that song saved his fucking ass.He was in serious financial trouble until that song happened".

Prince dismisses O'Connor's accusation."That never happened",he says."I have no idea what she's talking about".

I wonder if he brought his own bees, or he went to the graveyards on the off-chance that he would find a nest? hmm

That's actually true. He's repeatedly said that first in his first Rolling Stones Magazine interview in 1985 and second on the Ellen Show this year. Though, that's really not that unusual.

You should rent "An Evening with Kevin Smith" - about half way through the DVD he tells this bizarre Prince story - aout Prince calling him to come and direct some sort of documentary at Paisley Park duirng the time of the Rainbow children.

That kind of conflicts with the other rumor about having Broken in his car.
